Well she wound up with a Mini Cooper S. The Civi Si is a great car but has no torque... low end is anemic... its really a night and day difference with the Supercharged mini motor. The S2000 is a great car but man is it tight... at 6'2" I do not fit in that car. Its also much noisier than my NSX being a convertible. Its a good second car. I don't think its a really good daily driver.
After tossing the mini around for a while, I really wondered how they could make a FWD car handle so well... amazing... one of the funnest cars I have ever been in. Its also decent in the snow, gets decent MPG, has lots of interior space for its size, feels like a genuine sports car, and is cheap. It was just a winner.
To those who have never driven a Mini, its one of those things you have to do. It may look a little too cute and a little girly, but I would buy one. The S with a stick is just a ton o' fun.
