My completely stock 94 Accord EX has ABS disabled (ABS motor shot, pulled fuse). Replaced front wheel bearings recently and turned rotors(the ones requiring pressing), kept pads, after this job could not get those metal shield thingies back on car (the ones that partially cover the rotors) so I tossed them. Note: b/f wheel bearing replacement braking was not optimal in rain. Of the two brands NAPA carries I choose the upgraded rotors/pads.
Problem: whenever it rains or I leave a car wash I have to pump the brakes 3-4 times till they WORK. This is very scary on the highway when its raining and I need to jab on them.
This car is a daily driver and I just want to keep it safe. Therefore I am not interested in upgrading to a Brembro kit or the like.
Anyone know of any aftermarket pads and rotors I can get to help brake better in the rain? Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
