Hello everybody.... Great Community you have here... Hopefully some of the members may help me rebuild my NSX and bring it back to its Glory...
I have a 91 NSX that was used in a movie and was dubbed RedTide by Modified mag..... you will see in my profile what my NSX has on now... I'm planning to take it all of and go with Science of Speed upgrades... Can I get your inputs on SOS? amd also does my NSX have a stock LSD installed?
Thank you

Mabuhay! Kamusta ka?

That's all the Filipino I know besides various body parts and how to curse someone's mother. ;)

ScienceofSpeed is a very respected NSX vendor (both in level of customer service and part performance) and, basically, the only one in the 'States since Comptech closed their doors. I've got a host of ScienceofSpeed parts on my NSX and recently had them install a 3.6L stroker engine. You may want to search Prime to form your own opinion.

Welcome to the community!

Thank you for all your inputs...

From what I was told by the previous owner was that it was shown in the 1st showing of Fast and the Furious but very vaguely, almost like a blur on the screen...

Welcome from Australia... especially since we're oceania neighbours.

Which movie was your NSX featured in?

Mabuhay....Thank you... I too am looking at bringing it up to a 3.6L stroker engine with ITB's and the works... Have no use for the supercharger anymore since I don't know how to tune forced induction engines...got a whole list of things that i ordered and almost fell of my seat when i got the bill... oh well... no guts no glory...

Nice looking ride! Is your NSX in the Philippines? I'm originally from Manila so I'm just curious to find out how many NSXs are over there. Regarding SOS - they are one of the most reputable shops for the NSX. Can't go wrong with them. Goodluck with the project.

Mabuhay!!

Yeah I'm currently in Manila... Have lived here all my life... From what I know ther are not more than a handful NSX owner here... Very seldom do you see them out on the street...

There seems to be a handful of members on NSX Prime who were either from Manila or have at least visited the place. Kamusta kayo lahat? (how are you?)

Hopefully the project goes well, haven't used the car in 6 months and I'm itching to get it back on the road again

Aloha and mabuhay!!!

Damn, where did the heck have you been? I stayed over in Manila a few months ago, and I didn't see one NSX! Hehe! Anyways, welcome to NSX Prime, check out the galleries and enjoy your stay. We need more kababayans over here!

BTW, you should convert your NSX into an NSX-R. Now that would be something to see in the Philippines. Think about it, an NSX-R with the Mall of Asia in the background.

Well like i said, the car has been out of commission the past 6 months... You will see the NSX not out but in the mall of asia this november... Preparing it for the 1st ever Manila Auto Salon....

How many Filipinos are there in Prime anyway?... would love to meet you guys.....Never knew that we would be NSX lovers.. I would love to learn from all of you since i'm relatively new to this...

2 of the NSX's in the PI are from Guam. Whether or not they're still on the roads there I have no clue. I was there 2 summers ago for a friends wedding. Stayed at Discovery and had a driver take us all around. We got to visit Binauway (sp?) and some other car places (more like strips).

Welcome :)

Just next to San Francisco we have a town called Daly City or "Little Manila" home to over 350,000 Pilipinos and a few NSX's.

Hi people... I need your help.. I just recently hit a dead end... I ordered some items from SOS and was informed that they cannot or will not supply some of them since they would rather do it in their shop and some of the items are customized.

i got most of my parts already and what i lack are the ITB's and the Stroker kit and 93mm pistons....TODA is double the budget i set aside for the SOS parts... Would anybody know where i can get them? Also need street cams for N/A engine. Also for the stroker, i need pistons that will allow me to use the stroker kit with the stock con-rods and the new pistons. please see below what i ordered and what my friend who called up SOS said...

The main issue with SOS is that most of the parts they
have on the web are available. Except the hard core
internal parts. Which is mostly custom. They are only
willing to do it if the whole car and not even the
engine is there at there facility They are a small shop,
but they do specialize in the NSX. They had a lot of
cars they work on including stroker engines. But It
was not an off the counter product and they only did
it as a build to order. Another key thing that they
are wondering is the capability of us being able to
assemble the parts correctly which according to TODA
is not an issue. Both companies do acknowledge the
tuning issues for this kind of project. SOS uses AEM
EMS for there project cars and TODA uses motec which
is not a direct plugin.

Main issues that was not completed is the stroker
crankshaft and parts which toda has available and the
fuel injection kit. Based on my experience I like the
quality of TODA and we should go with there components
to finish the project.

This are the parts and items i ordered;

1. Replacement O2 Sensors (complete set) - $140 -
PICKED UP
2. SOS kit Individual Throttle Body System -
$4450 plus injectors $90 to $110ea - This was not
available from SOS. They had a sample in the shop but
it was not available for sale and they are not willing
to do any kit right now. Toda has a kit for $8000 that
is available to ship immediately from Japan. This will
include the injectors as weel
3. Samco has a hose kit for $60 - this is on order and
will be in this week.
4. 1 Set Dual Valve Springs for Intake and Exhaust
$259 ON HAND
5. 1 set 36mm SS Intake Valve - $198 ON HAND
6. 1 set 30mm Inconel Exhaust Valve - $368 ON HAND
7. SOS Billet Oil Pump Gear Set - $480 ON HAND
8. Timing Belt Tensioner - $254 ON HAND
9. 1 Set Billet Camshaft Plugs-RED - $59 ON HAND
10. Type C Forged Pistons For 3.6L Displacement -
$1150 for the piston set (not gapless). On Order, but
I would suggest that we cancel and order the Toda for
$2100 which is a $1000 more. The SOS pistons are Arias
pistons. The TODA is a better piston and better match
for the stroker kit.
11. Stroker Kit 88mm. $4495 - SOS is not willing to
do the stroker kit for us. We have the TODA available
but the price is $8000 and they also have the
connecting rods for $3200.
12. 1 Stainless steel head gasket $150 - ON ORDER
13. SOS Type NA Performance Camshaft Set - $1850 -
SOS camshaft are reground ones from the original and
they want a core charge of $1600 - TODA is the same
price. If it is Type A then we can have it faster, if
Type B or C then 4-6 weeks.
14. Lost Motion Assembly Kit - $133 ON HAND
15. Exact Fit Lexan Race Hatch & Carbon Duct Kit -
$1295 on order 2 weeks to arrive.
16. Short Shifter Kit $60 ON HAND
17. Carbon Fiber Gauge Pod Garnish $100 ON HAND
18. Steering Rack Bushing Kit - $59 ON HAND
19. ARP – Head Stud Kit $250 and Main Stud Kit
$120 and the rod bolt $150 ON HAND
20. EGR Block Kit - $19 ON HAND
21. TODA Timing Belt $250 ON HAND
22. TODA Heavy Duty Valve guide $600 On order
23. Oil Pan Baffle $38 ON HAND

please feel free to comment on certain things and suggest other means or sources...

would you go ITB or a bigger bore throttle?

Thanks

Cool thread...

My friend that I'm buying an NSX from is in the Philippines right now. And hopefully, I go visit before the end of the year. I haven't been back since I moved here in the states.

I can see your point on tuning ITB's instead of forced induction. I would also go the same route it wasn't for the smog laws in California.

Anyways, why not go through Japan? Let me know if you wanted to check out out.

TNT NSX is right. simple turbo charge. BTW Factor X does it too. Pare Pinoy siya. makipag arrange ka sa kanya kasi umuuwi din siya sa pinas., and thats what he does for a living. i will be in manila sometime june. hope to see you there.

Thanks for all your inputs... I see all your point. The NSX i have was previously supercharged and now i want to go NA... I know what you all mean but the look of having the ITBs there and all that, is something i am looking forward to... My drive basically is the aesthetic finish in the end. i am looking at getting another NSX for the Forced induction build up but that will be sometime in the future, If anybody can hook me up with suppliers of ITBs then that would be great...
Thanks
