Re: Love the green, but.............

As per the many requests we have recieved we have added some detailed individual pics to the front page of our website.

Thanks. That shows a lot. Taking the pressure off the collarbone should be universally accepted as a major improvement.

I just got a question yesterday from a friend about buying a used HANS and I pointed him to your pics just now. He's a serious track day guy but I've teased him for years about being a bit of a poser as well...........so the question for him is, since lime green is a bit "out there" for him, can he paint your device? It would appear from your adjustable design that repainting the green part at least should be easy. I have heard that HANS will not recertify if the device has been painted.

I see your avatar pic has a matching green on it, so if that is your race car it will go well with it.

We are talking to a company that does professional sticker kits for the race industry, so you can do the color change that way. We will let you know about that when it is finalised. If you have access to a sticker guy it will be the cheapest way to change the color.

If you still want to spray it it would be at your own risk. If you mess up the SFI sticker in the process you will have a hard time getting your pre-race checks passed.

There are a few reasons why it is green. Green does not clash with other colors in the cockpit. It makes it easier for marshals and medical teams to see that you have a device on when they arrive at your wrecked car. The most important one of all it photographs really well for when you want to be a poser.

Re: The value of crush zones in street cars on track

That's my question because it's about the only explanation I can think of for why many if not all the current and former F-1 drivers in the Legends race were not wearing a HANS or any device? They were racing full out in Scions at Laguna. (Timo Glock won.) I did not see one device and several had anchors in their helmets and all had full harnesses, so why not slip on an HNR device? What would be the answer if not relying on the crash protection of a street car?

Did the cars have cages? I wouldn't wear my HANS in a car that didn't have full roll protection.

Did the cars have cages?
Yeah, fully race prepped. Same as the celebrity race at Long Beach. But now I do notice one HANS in the Youtube below. I erased the race but it's on Speed again; I think it's next Friday at 330 pm PST. Here's what I can find on google.

Re: More choices and more fodder for debate

Get em while they're hot

If you're salivating for a HNR device like Hrant at an after Christmas sale  but haven't been following this issue on other forums, this thread has some new posts on the patent lawsuits, costs and a new real inexpensive Isaac device. The new Isaac is still in testing but apparently it is still hooked to shoulder harness though since that is the only thing keeping it from being SFI certified and "beating" HANS and others in the marketplace.

Re: Price wars

Safe Racer is selling the HANS Sport for $545 which last I looked, matches Defndr's last price. But then Defndr has offered their without the lime green. Now that pisses me off.

Man I missed this thread, thanks for revival it was a good read. Now I know of a few more ways I can drain my wallet. Titanium Isaac is only $3250!!

Re: HANS free drawing

If you're one of those guys like Hrant  that shop til you drop and don't have a HANS or equal yet, Saferacer is going to give a HANS away free this month.

I think you just have to sign up (no purchase necessary). And you'll get emails til you get fed up and unsubscribe.
