With GT4 finally shipping to U.S. stores next Tuesday, I figured I take a poll as to how many plan to actually buy it right away. Technically, I already own it (the Japanese version), but I will be getting the U.S. version next week along with millions of U.S. GT fans.

I need to buy a PS2 first but I think I will.

I also need a PS2, but I have an XBOX and hardly play it. Hopefully they will make an XBOX version of it so I can buy it.
Doubtful. Polyphony Digital is a development house owned by sony. I'm not thinking they're gonna let one of their system's biggest marques go to their main competitor. But forza should be good (and on xbox)

Me? today I pulled the old Gamestop preorder slip thats been tucked in my wallet for the last 2 years. Gamestop quit giving out the slips a long time ago. i'll probably be one of the only ones using one

Pre-ordered and paid. Was going to have a GT4 party at my place until I remembered I had business travel. Gotta say I was extremely perturbed at Sony for not releasing it sooner.

Looking forward to the Nurburgring!

man.....I prepaid 3 months ago....and I can't wait to get it!!!

I just borrowed GT3 from a co-worker and realized I really suck at it, do I still want this game? Maybe I need a better wheel, I got a so-so one for Christmas that isn't that sensitive. But on the other hand, I have a hard time guaging my speed for taking corners and such, so I'm always all over the place and into the wall. Not sure I wanna get the Driving force pro and this game if I'm going to be miserable at it....

I think I prefer real life...

Being a big nerd and all I completely understand...
But anytime I get the urge to buy or play this game, I think I'll just go for a drive in the NSX instead.

Re: I think I prefer real life...

Where's the option for "prepaid for it over a year ago?" That's what I did lol

The PS2 Logitech Pro Is on sale for $105 @ amazon.com

If you sign up for their visa card, you get $30 off your first purchase.

You will end up spending $75 for the wheel itself.

Logitech is having a $20 mail-in rebate if you purchase both the wheel and GT4, but I don't know if they will honor it if you get the $30 discount.

Woo I cant wait!!

dnyhof the game is pretty challenging to get a hang of if you're new at it. My 2 cents try it in first person, always seem to have better control personally from that perspective. Playing the game from above and behind the car seems clumsy to me. But then Ive never played the game with any steering wheel set up yet.

I'll be running to the store as soon as they get it in, and I'll be sure to have them call me when they do... I'm a good customer at the EB Games and they know me so hopefully I can be one of the first to get it so I can run home and play til my eyes melt and I can't see it anymore... but even then I might just try to play by using the sound of it........

I'll be there first thing in the morning. I'm debating if I should get the Logitec wheel for $120 or so also...

Ordered and pre-paid. If you go to "Toys R Us" they have a special that you can purchase a "Wireless Steering wheel Kit" for $9.99 along with your pre-order GT4. It will be release on Feb 22nd.

Sounds like a deal to me  .

Eric,

I'll be getting it only as early as it becomes available through "you know what". :D Hehehehe

Looking forward to it, but I was really waiting for internet racing.

One thing I've noticed with GT3, I've always driven with a wheel since I got GT2, a friend I play against has always used the game controller, and would usually beat me in equal cars. When I tried the game controller and got good at it, I found I could do things with the controller that I could never do with the wheel, (a Momo G force). I also heard that the developers always used the game controller in development and it is optimized for the game controller. I understand that the wheels don't have the the tuns lock to lock to represent a true wheel, and I still like the control of the wheel better. Any one have any thoughts on this??? It really becomes critical when your trying to get gold licenses on the top level tests.

Can't wait to try the "Ring"!

Same here. I've played on the wheel for quite a bit of time, but I originally started playing the GT series with a controller before I picked up the Logitech and played the games again with the wheel. For some reason, I'm much faster with the controller. Still, I prefer playing with the wheel because of the heightened sense of realism. Oh, and FYI, the new Logitech Driving Force Pro has 900 degree wheel rotation (2.5 wheel rotations), just like a real car. You might want to try it out!

This is sad to hear that equal skills given that a controller will beat a wheel. The whole point of the game is the sensation of driving, not controlling. A controller takes all sense of realism out of it.

That may not apply to GT4 since GT4 supports 900 degree steering mode while GT3 only supports 200 Degree Steering mode. So we'll see when the game come out.
