FXMD Widebody Kit

I've watched your car as you've moved it along, came out very nice Danny.

A dynomat material would have been good to.

my new tires rubbed like crazy on the fender liners I removed em and install a dynomat type material works perfect plus quieted the car quite a bit..probably a little heavier but can't be much

The painting begins.
Day 1, a LOT of sanding.

As much as I wanted to change the color, there is too much red everywhere else that would have been just to time consuming to deal with unless I took the car a part again...and that just wasn't going to happen at this point.

New Formula Red...

Thanks for the link...

Hows your trip going ?

I can see why you're painting it red Jim.....Should be nice when its done.....which red are you going for again? Zanardi red?Monza red pearl? Formula red?candy red? doo doo red?:biggrin:

Trip is ok.....so far I found a nice pub not too far from me to grab dinner and hangout for a bit. Otherwise havent been doing to much on the weeknights until the weekend. This weekend I am not sure what I am going to do, but I'll figure something out.

Forumla red is hot.....are you painting the roof too or leaving it black top? I've grown to like the black top look for some reason. Maybe you should photoshop both and see.

Do one with black top only, one with black top and black mirrors, and one all painted red. I know all that prep work is a pain in the azz, but it will be worth it in the end.

I'm sure you'll be glad to get home....have a beer for me brother...
When you get home, we'll have one together.

I pulled some various pictures with the top red and black.

A red top looks to show type car to me, I like the look of the black top so I'm going to keep it black.

Here's when my car was still OEM with a black top...I think it looks right..

You are absolutely correct, prep work is the key to a great paint job, the more time you spend in prepping, the better the paint comes out...

Hey Coz it's looking great after our conversation earlier today I took a closer look at the thread and I have to admit I like the way it flows from front to rear. It looks seamless unlike so many kits that have a door that doesn't even match up with the rear panels. Can't wait to see it finished.

It was goood talking to you today. When you called we were in the middle of sanding...as you can see.
Tomorrow we start taping and with a little luck and all goes well, we'll do the primer. We hope to paint red on Wednesday, Blacks & Clear on Thursday, final wet sanding and buffing over the weekend.
It took some work to get everything lined up the way you see it now, but it was a great filiment to start with which made it a lot easier, even for me who had never installed a widebody kit before.
One of the things I'm most impressed with on this kit is the way it flows...Pictures really don't do it justice at all.
It's a very impressive widebody kit when you see it in person.

Thanks Stephen...
Didn't get a chance to make that call for you we talked about, but will first thing in the morning and get back to you. It was a long day...

Can't wait to see the outcome and final product! Great job so far man.

Stephen

can't wait for the completion.. i love the flow from the door all the way to the rear fender. also, the opening between the door gap and the front fender is a nice touch. hurry up please

WOW! looking gooood! You know me I like the red! can't wait to see it in person! Hey...speaking of that....when?

+1 on keeping the black top. I agree it keeps it looking more track associated. Definitely a nice job with the guns Coz. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The end is near!!

Thanks Dave...mine too

That is a nice looking car - my favorite widebody by far!
Enjoy!
Dave

lookin' good

Thanks

[QUOTE=Jack Sparrow; Would have loved to see you pick a matte color.

It was a thought...But this will be easier to take care of and I don't have to worry about fading in the Arizona Heat during the summer.
