FXMD Widebody Kit

Sounds good, I'll keep an eye out although its hard to miss an NSX like yours haha. Sounds like the family has some good taste in cars to . Good luck in TA!

I've always been a sucker for a nice A**...

The rear is hot! Love the Scuderia type rear.

Lookin good man, all the time and effort paid off for sure! I'm a little jelous

Thanks Kyle...

[QUOTE=SOURCENSX; Looks amazing man! I would consider this widebody and I have always been anti widebody.
Good choice keeping it red... It just works on these cars.

Thanks...I feel the same way and I've seen all the widebody's out there. This was the one I waited over 2 years for. Red does fit the car very well. I think after this tracking/racing season is done, I might paint it again. But this time I am considering leaving it a satin red and doing the top in a satin black. Before we put the clear on, it looked pretty good at that point.

Hi Jim,

I kind of miss the flat black of the development stage ..... but WOW, its looking good now! Keeping the black has really worked.

I didn't realise the clips to the front bumper were staying, but the rear end just looks spot on!

Have you considered getting the black area wrapped in CF then satin lacquered? IMO it would completely finish off the rear end.

If I was your side of the pond I'd definately come by and say hello .... as well as get some driver training.

Very nice indeed!

Regards, Paul

Senninha,

Thanks...believe me, I see this being painted now as a nightmare waiting to happen with repairs and touch up's...But it needed to be done to be finished.

The clips on the front bumper are there for a reason. They allow me to remove the front bumper easily to load the car on and off a trailer when I go tracking or racing with it, and to be able to put on and take off the front splitter without having to jack the car up and crawl under it to do so.

I am not a big fan of CF wrapping for exterior parts of the car. Pure CF would be another situation, but the cost of doing pure CF is nuts.

I wish you were on this side of the pond as well, maybe one day you'll get out this way on vacation....

Thanks again for the compliment, it's appreciated much.

Those are quite some serious numbers! Just curious do you plan on turning the boost down for the track? I imagine it would be hard to put down 600 wheel horsepower coming out of turns even with fat sticky tires like yours:biggrin:

Those are my every day numbers...
I will run 100 octane for the track.

Thanks Eric...see you in 2 days...

Hey Coz, which track & what time----I may have to crawl out from under my "endless project" to come out & watch (or drive, if you insist, haha)
Dale

Dale,

We are at Firebird Sat...We'll be everywhere track wise

Autocross at 9:00 am. Questionable, been a long time, but I have faith...
Drag Strip runs at 12:00 pm. I believe I will be tough in this :-)
Time Attack at 10:00 pm. LOL...going to do our best considering the tires...

I'll have 2 or 3 practices sessions during the afternoon in the
HPDE4/Instructors group and the TTU & TA group itself.

Had a great and long talk with the Senior Editor of Modified Magazine today...he understands my car is a street car, A/C, stereo, bass box, DVD & GPS (in case I get lost on track), running street tires, somewhat built for the track and I am competing against full blown race cars with racing tires...He thinks we will do well in spite of this....

and.... I think we'll hold our own considering...we'll see...

I'm just honored that NASA, FXMD, UMS & Modified Magazine thought I was worthy enough to even be out there with these top fight competitors.
I'm proud of my baby (NSX) and she has never let me down yet.

You bet, take a break and come on out. I'll be set up in the paddock and would love to have you out there with us...
I'll take you out during one of the practice sessions, you can give me some feedback. Bring your helmet.

We'll have plenty of time to sit and talk too, besides, a long time no see.....Love what you're doing with your project, it's looking great...

So if your running a higher octane at the track will you be upping the boost and turning out more power? Something tells me your going to have to be very careful with your right foot coming out of corners.

Nope, boost will stay the same. I will run higher octane to cool the motor and give me more detonation protection since we will be at higher RPM limits though most everything that happens from here on out.

593 HP is enough power...if you can't put it to the ground and keep it there, it's worthless.

When we get a chance to go out together at one of the NASA events in your car, you driving, I would like to teach you some things about throttle steering...Power is easily controlable as long as you can control your right foot :-)

I think I would learn more from getting a ride along with you in your car because my integra puts about 120 wheel horsepower :frown:, add that to the fact I have super sticky tires throttle control almost never happens.

I know the higher octane is better for boosted engines but I thought you were going to dyno it again for the competition at a higher octane/different tune.

Back in January Wayne gave me a ride along in his turbo NSX and he had the boost turned down just for the sake of an easier corner exit. Since your putting out even more power then him I wondered if you might do the same.

We can do that too :-)

Yesterday and today is the dyno part of the competition at UMS.

On tight tracks, power can be tough to handle with corner exit, but I've gotten used to it and learned how to roll onto to the throttle with this kind of boost.
Wayne is a great guy..

Word has it we finished 5th in the Dyno part of the competition out of 16.

Thanks guys....

Just walked in the door at 1:26 AM...
Been a 18-1/2 hour day at the track.

9 starters out of 14 entries today...
13 of which were either modifed or unlimited class cars, all full race cars running race tires...and then me, still pretty much a street car running street tires.

Todays competition's were autocross, drag racing and the TA.

We finished 3rd in RW class and 7th over all.

More tomorrow, I'm beat.

Best of luck Jim!

Being this our first competition for the NSX with the Widebody Kit and Turbo, we stood our ground with some of the most incredible cars out there competing. We were surrounded by fully prepared race cars that spend all their time racing in Modified and Unlimited classes all over the US.

We really didn’t expect much, but we were honored to be asked by Modified Tuner Magazine to just be out there with such serious and fierce competitors.

We learned a lot, had a great time, and as Modified Magazine told us, we have a lifetime invitation to compete in any of their events we want to…and that means a lot to us.

The magazine and story about the event will be out in July...

Here's the best part :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
