Front Storage ILO Spare Tire

Has anybody removed their spare tire and using the space for luggage on long trips? I’ve searched to no avail. If so, I’d love to hear, and better yet see, what you’ve done.

yes we put a small carry on style piece in the space,just made it fit.

Kinda warm in there, for either a cooler or luggage, but maybe not any worse than the bottom part of the trunk after a long trip.

WAY back in the day Dali had an aluminum box that fit that spot, bolted to the battery rack below, and had a cover held down with 2 wire clips...that's the right way to do it - I have a waterproof bag that fits my gloves, neck ring and helmet that fits in there nicely without blocking the fan shroud exit.
