Front Parking Lights Revisited

I don't know, I've had pretty bad luck with superbrightleds.com. Many of the items I bought for my car died within a couple months. At least, with this setup, you know it's a quality LED.

I replaced numerous bulbs with ones from superbrightleds.com including front parking lights, all of the interior courtesy lamps, the glove box, the trunk and have never had a failure in almost 3 years and over 100,000 miles. It's been plug, play, forget about. Just the way I like it! :smile:

ok guys, finally they are ready (supposedly).
i am picking the sinks up today, will try to get them shipped to fastrax turbo by tomorrow. i know it took a while but i can't bitch about having such a small run of parts made on the cheap.

guys, please review the "list" (it is here) and if you no longer are interested then remove yourself so someone else can have a shot at it. i will ship those to fastrax for assembly tomorrow, final delivery will depend on his schedule.

well guys, i must say that this is dissapointing. all we wanted to do is to make a good, completely reversable mod. needless to say nobody is making any money on this, all the legwork and development time by fastraxturbo or myself are donated, and we have manufactured the components based on initial stated interest. i understand the 'economy sucks' etc. but this is cheaper than you will spend on a dinner on the weekend. there is no reason to create a situation where we have to cover the cost of parts out of our pockets too. i am travelling now so i don't have access to the web to often but if anyone has questions send me or fastraxturbo a message.

just a quick list of benefits of the mod as i see them:

-matching the 'tone' or 'hue' of the light to the hid lights (if you have hid light, the yellowish bulb hue of the parking lights look really out of place)

-ability to drive in inclement conditions (other than at night of course) without having to use the main lights for increasing the visibilty of the vehicle

-will not burn out like a light bulb

-looks good and modern

This mod is awesome....trust me guys......I have it........once you go this route you will not want to go back to oem brightness or shall I say dimness.

Those are great looking units- really nice work! You had contacted me recently but kids' sports, sick dogs, work and other dumb adult stuff took priority over a response. I'm sending this out in the open for those keeping score at home, but I am definately in for a set.

These are the latest 1 watt and 3 watt leds commercially available. Those other multiple smt leds mentioned above dont compare in brightness.

Here is a comparison between the commercial 3W led on the right and the 1 watt Cree led on left.

Slower shutter speed

Also just after a few minutes, that 3W led became very hot. Having the heatsink on the front and being sealed within the housing will not allow it to cool, and probably burn out early.

I just installed mine today.

I have to say, I could not be happier. Excellent workmanship, great communication and the car just looks exceptional. This is solution number 4 for me, and I am finally one happy camper.

Thank you both for stepping up to the plate and making this happen. If anybody is on the fence, get it now. Mine won't ever be for sale.
