front bumper

Looks good, but I think the "lips" come in a bit too far. I think it'd look a little better if the inside termination of the "lips" lined up with the grill opening. As it sits the space in the middle of the bottom looks a little too narrow.

Yes I agree ! This is one of the areas to get a bit more "lovin",LOL!
I started today by removing those two exact parts to provide more ground clearance when we had a power outage. Will resume tomorrow.
One question though,
Do you guys like the split in the lower part or should I keep it smoooth?
I am also changing the side parts to flow with the curve of the sideskirts better.
There may be two versions as well-one with the split and one without. The split one will be for those daring enough to chance draggin' on the ground.
I will call it the "Show-car stance",LOL.

Please do understand this is not the final design just a preliminary one.
Need to start somewhere!!
Stacy

PS sideskirts(easier install ones) and rear spats will be ready to ship in two or three weeks(these will be as close to bolt-on/stick-on as possible).

Out of the two, I would choose the smooth one. Looking good Stacy..

I think you are getting very close to what people want. I have been looking to update the front bumper of my NSX for a few years but I don't like the current choices available. The only thing that looks awkward to me on this new design is the part directly in front of the wheel. The area is too broad and looks to fat for the front end. Maybe if you were to put a vent in there to complement the vent on the side skirt, you'd have a winner with me.

Well DocL I am in the process of changing that side as it does look too broad.I am contouring it a little more so as not to be so straight down.Give me some time and see if you like what I come up with next.

Here is what I accompished today !!
I removed the lower split and contoured the sides ALOT.
I will fine tune the front corners tomorrow.
It was a ton of work to remove the split part, thanks guys,LOL !!!
The bumper is exactly the same height as a stock bumper with the Wings West front lip.

Just so you all know this is just a personal quest to build my own bodykit,if there is something similiar out there for cheaper, great.I am just doing this as a hobby and I would also like to thank all those who have helped me through my projects.
If anyone,in the future, does want one of the pieces I have made let me know and I would be happy to sell it to you.
Stacy

Just curious Stacy, I'm wondering what materials would you need to fabricate this things. Is there any website that shows how to do this fabrication? Thanks.

looking great stacy!
U'll have a full line up now.

Hmm maybe something like this (the lower part obviously) would look good?

I like the subtle angular "cut outs" on the sides, and I can see a hint of
similar lines on the profile shot of your bumper.

I like it!!! When are they going to be for sale?

(edit) Is there anyway you can put the lip on the edge near the wheel so it follows the line of the fender. Thanks.

Stacy,

I "painted" your front. The additional two photos below it are my rendition of an idea- a slight slant, in my opinion gives it a more modern form. Just enough that it does not insult the hardcore OEM fans ;]

Ohh, me likey the split molded bottom in Vizal's photochop drawing!

Well guys I have made some progress on the bumper.I have made the sides shorter, thus flowing better, the centre hole(big one) runs down and contours with the bottom lip,the bottom lip was broadened by 1 inch.I forgot my camera today and will post pics tomorrow night. The bumper right now is the same height as a stock bumper with the Wings West lip.
The split(s) in the bottom will be an add-on piece. This way if you rub/break/or crack the split it will be cheap to supply a new on.
As for sales, not sure yet,got to stop fussin' with it.
I also need to come up with a price.Molds are not cheap!!!
Stacy

PS Thanks Vizal YET AGAIN.I like that split as well. The add-on split pieces will look very similiar to those

I ran down to to the shop to get some pics for you guys who are interested !!!
Here they are,the splitters will be added later.
Stacy

The last pic was coloured with photoshop.

I think it looks pretty nice....my opinion is the bottom part gives the illusion of been heavy. But I'am considering buying a front, so will look at your finished product...I know you make excellent stuff.

The front bumper has been on hold.I just gave my shop up,to someone else.I also have a motor project on the go.
My idea for this bumper was to have the split part as two individual pieces so that if they hit something all you would need to replace is the splits themselves, not the whole bumper.
It will be awhile before it gets finished!!!

Stacy

Front bumper project is over.I recently was offered the 02 front for a "GREAT" deal and couldn't say no.I also have come to realize that building fiberglass parts is too much of an investment for what you get back out.So anyone waiting for the end result, don't.
Sorry guys I failed this one !!!

Here are preliminary pics to show the 02 front I bought instead.

Thanks.
Stacy
