front bumper

Here are a couple of more pics from today!!
Also I have a few questions-
I measured the height of the bumper(lower) and the overall height is 8.5 inches..5 inches lower than Wings West according to my car.
Could someone measure theirs, post pic of your bumper along with measurement,so I know which it is?

If the centre bar of the bumper is removed what could be put in there to hide everything in behind?I know the bar doesn't hide that much but at least it distracts the focus of ones eyes from seeing all the stuff in behind.

*EDIT*
I figured this one out LICENCE PLATE.

Here is an actual bumper with center bar removed. Lip is Wings West but car was lowered years ago and I'd lost the reference measurement.

Regards
Paul

Stacy,

How about modifying the pre'02 upper bumper to accept the 02 fixed lights? I'm surprised nobody has done it yet. I bet they'll sell :)

Henry.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But wouldn't you have to modify the hood also?

The problem with that is you still need to buy 02 hood and headlights, expensive still.I think an afermarket hood is $1000.00 and headlights are at least $1500.00,now through a bumper($900.00) onto that
and now you have less people interested.

Here's my dilema.Today I started to think just to make a front lip,it is cost effective and easier.Everyone can afford a lip !
The problem with a bumper is,YES I can build it but very expensive to mold.
The question is how many will really buy it when it's done?

There are so many favourites that I don't think we could all agree on one, thus not worth while.
So today this project has turned into a front lip day,it may change again.Depends on how things go tomorrow.
Stacy

PS do not apologize Jin glad you posted it,as you know from the pics you sent me,this was going to be my project.Nice work BTW.

Yes, of course, you need the 02 hood + 02 lights.

The '02 oem bumper assembly is not cheap ya know?

Henry.

I know, but Stacy wanted to make something that was cost effective..however that route would not be.

Hmmm....

If you want to make lips, please make them flexible.

Henry.
So any idea what an urethane mold would cost?
I take it,Henry fiberglass would not be to your liking?

I also would think urethane mold would be expensive because the mold is machined out of steel(2pieces).The two parts would need to fit to within a certain thickness and urethane or other flexible material gets injected in,am I kinda on the right track here?

Boy my Wings West is starting to look better,LOL !!!

Sorry, I have no idea about the cost of making a urethane lip. I know it definitely cost more than a fiberglass mold.

The fact is.... all the nsx are lowered one way or another. Once lowered, we need to have a soft lip that can take the abuse. I personally have gone through 2 RM lips and 3 Gruppe M lips before I switched to the wingswest lip. My WW lip has been abused so much and it still looks brand new.

Just 0.02

Henry.

Another half bumper spoiler from Kei office. Would fit Stacey's skirts nicely IMO.

haha i do like the idea of just lower bumper piece, its cheaper, and less complicated, and more people would probably bite =)

that kei office looks teh shizzle

Here are a few more preliminary pics.Tomorow I am going to take the sides and re-work them, definately flair out too much. They will get contoured under more.I am also going to open up the centre "channel" in the lower lip part or even take that part right off to make more ground clearance,LOL.Not a bad start considering this is the first time bolted to my car.
