I am looking for pics of front bumpers from the front(primarily)and from the side. There are so many different kinds, brands, and styles,I can't possibly see them all.I want to design and build my own,yes here I go again!
I just want to get an idea of what is out there.Post ALL I don't care of years,I may like something off of the 02 and put it into the older style.
I know I could probably scan around for DAYS for pics, but I figure it's just easier to have you guys post pics of your cars.My picture gallery is getting full.
Hey,besides, who doesn't like to see their car in the spot-light,LOL!!
Stacy

My car is a 93.

I might get flamed for this but I've wondered what an 02+ bumper would look like on a pre-02 with pop-up headlights. That's something I might be interested in if you go in that direction.

haha if you want to get crazy, maybe you can incorporate the do-luck smiley face

also it'd be nice to see a comptech front bumper (buck tooth) looking lower part too

I like the "Comptech" lip in the first picture, but note that the black/blue one is different than the white one. The side vents (under the turn signals) on the blue/black one are smaller than the white one. Also note that the middle vent is more trapezoidal shaped rather than rectangular.

Who makes the lip on the black/blue one?

I believe it's the Erebuni kit:

Correct me if I'm wrong but I recall it's a wide body kit.

Erebuni or VIS

It's not really a lip, it's part of the bumper cover, which is Erebuni Style 492 or VIS GT Widebody. Even though these kits are widebodies, I think the front fenders remain stock so they front bumper cover will fit a stock body NSX.

Here's a little more info on this this style bumper:
VIS Carbon Fiber Hood (Backyard GT style) (there is some discussion about the bumper)
Erebuni Widebody?
Finally a urethane front bumper!

I think this one looks better than the Erebuni or VIS:

I got this from the SOS site. They said they wouldn't make a version for the older NSXs but if they had one I would pick it up in a heartbeat. I think it would fit the lines of your signature stuff very well. Looks nice, simple, clean!

I agree - The Cantrell GT looks great.

At NSXPO, I briefly chatted with the Cantrell-man himself and mentioned that I would love to have a version that works my old skool pop-up headlights. He said the challenge is not really in revising the top to work with the older headlight design, but it does require some work to integrate the combination light or custom turn signal cleanly.

I somehow forgot all about this, but it seems that mounting an amber LED strip at the top of the vent on each side would do the job, while not requiring any additional modification to the bumper and not destroy the clean lines. There seem to be a lot of options out there, such as this, for example. There are thinner ones, as well. Just an idea.

That white comptech widebody car is mine and although it is not authentic, it certainly comes close to a real comptech kit.

OK Guys Great job on the pics!!
One thing you need to understand and something I forgot to say is,I am trying to build a cost effective kit.The more modifications the more money it will cost to produce.Being that this is a VERY limited car I am trying to keep it fairly simple.I looked at making it an 02 look with pop-up lights but to modify the air intakes and light socket areas is a TON of work.I also want to keep it fairly tame like my sideskirts. If I build something cray looking it will look funny next to my "Signature Series sideskirts"
So to keep it simple I am only going to modify the lower bumper!
So this is what I got done today,a good start I figure.

PS I am thinking of cutting the centre bar out as well,Does anyone know of a reason I cannot?
Right now it is 2 inches below the bottom of the front bumper(about the same as wings west).

Fantabulous

That looks like a great start!

Since it will be replacing the lower part, what do you think about removing that horizontal bar in the middle? I never was really fond of that little guy. :)

EDIT: I just now saw the part in your post about removing the bar. Well, you know what I think.

I would be interested also if they made this bumper for a earlu model nsx.

I like this one too! Nice, subtle, and simple. Since you would only be making the bottom half, it would be cost effective also.
One thing I don't like is that it looks like it is missing something on the bottom. The distance between the holes and the bottom is too small,IMO.
Give me a few days and I will see what happens!
As far as how low,What would be a good height?
Same as Wings West?
Could someone measure how big a stock bottom lip is(pre 97 and a 97)?
Thanks in advance.
Stacy

PS Remember it needs to match my Sideskirts,so I think anything that comes to a point is out.I too like the SOS one but feel it is too pointy looking to match the sides. This is why this project got started was because a few of you said the Wings West didn't suit the sides,Thanks you guys for pointing that out!!!
Just what I needed,more work,LOL!!

I am contemplating the Comptech widebody look, only not so pronounced. It will not come out to the front but rather down to the bottom on both sides.Hard to express,so I will do this tomorrow and post pics tomorrow night,

Stacy - From the looks of it you are heading in the absolute right direction. I love the look of the signature series sideskirts and your front bumper should be along that same simple, clean design. Good Luck and thanks for all you do for us.

I agree on the Style Auto front beeing the best looking for old style NSX's.

Its perfect, and the look should match your "signature series skirts" perfectly.
