fixed. flip up looks old fashioned, have look at the new lights in person they grow on you (with some watering) ;)

disclaimer: my opinion only even though i have incredibly good taste :p

haha! they arent bad by any means, i just think that the flip up has a cleaner look when closed, the fixed look, well a little goofy during the day. but if anybody bought me a 03 i wouldnt whine about the lights.

That's a really tough call. I think the fixed lights look good in the daylight, and are definitely more modern looking (very Porsche-like). But the pop-ups look better at night. I like the straight line of light that the pop-ups make on the horizon at night.

I think the flip-up lights, when down, do a much better job of maintaining the lines and solid body color of the car. I don't drive much at night, so I don't care that they're not as attractive when on/up.

I don't care for the fixed lights. The silvery chrome and plastic intrustion into the sleek, solid color of the nose is unwelcome to my eye. Perhaps a different fixed configuration wouldn't be as off-putting, but I doubt it.

...and flip ups (as opposed to push ups) give less reflective area for radar and laser to detect you with.

with flip ups!

This poll is quite similar to an earlier one in which over 80 percent said they prefer the '91-01 front over the '02+ front, while only 38 percent preferred the '91-01 rear over the '02+ rear.

I vote for pop up lights! IMHO, it maintains the smooth, clean lines of the NSX. Plus my RX7 has pop ups too. ;)

I think the 02 lights would look better if they were flush with the hood and did not stick up. If they were flush, I might prefer them over my flip-ups...

unless you're looking directly at the 02 lights on the same level with them, they look funny to me. especcailly from the side view because they arent flush. and about the people liking the back side better, the differences are minor but improved. still like the meh 93 better. it may be 10 years old but it still rules.

I like em both.

02 headlights with Pre-02 front end

Hmm, I personally like the following combination: 02 headlights on pre 02 front end, the trapezoidal air intake on the front bumper of the 02's does not seem to follow any lines :(.

NetViper: we must've been on the same wavelength (see my post a couple of minutes before yours in this thread).

2slow2speed: that looks great! (except for the tow hook attachment.) Is that for real, or a photoshop job? I guess it's the 02 front fender that I find more objectionable than the fixed lights, after seeing the above pics.

If the lights were flush then lighting would be terrible. Function over fashion I guess, the headlamps were moved forward and raised to maximize lighting, if the lights were flush the body panels around the headlamps would block part of the beam that was suppose to be on the road. See picture:

This Poll is so biased.... what if i don't like either... or what if i like both... or if i think 360/S2000 lights are better....? ;) j/k

THE FORUMS NAZI HAS SPOKEN!
NO SOUP FOR YOU!!! :p

PHOEN$X, I found the conversion photos at www.nsxfreak.com you need to choose the Japanesse version of the website and then scroll down until you see the picture of the "moriwaki NSX". The website does not seem to like direct links so I can't post the direct URL here.

The conversion is real and not a photoshopped image.

Thanks for the info, Ken. If I ever get bored with my car's appearance, I might consider a front-end treatment like that. Definitely eye-catching!

I think the stock fixed look like the eyes on a Japanese Anime character.

I like Gerry Johnson's CF inserts with clear lexan fixed look however. I just think anything being "up" ruins the classic lines.

I think the fixed headlights of the '02+ look like a change for the sake of change. IMO they look geeky from the profile view.
vote=popups.

I totally agree with this one. The '02 lights looks too much like my previous 3000GT lights. It doesn't really add character to the car IMHO.
