Well that exactly it. 5 years ago I joined this forum and posted about a 93 NSX with 7,300 miles on it. I was going to buy it, but built an LS1 RX7 instead...

Well the chance to own it again came around a few weeks ago and i jumped on it. The car is a 93 black/black 5 speed with only 7,300 miles on it when i bought it. I bought the car from the original owner, who happened to be my neighbor. The car was extremely dirty when i picked it up. I was the last person to drive it 5 years ago, but everything on it is good. It was kept in climate control garage, and all the rubber hoses and belts are in great shape. The only thing wrong is a scratch on the spoiler. I have a few pics of the car after i got it cleaned up and everything...

I guess a little about me, since I will be here more often. I am a 22 year old student, studying Physics and Mechanical Engineering. I am a senior but somehow have about 2 years left in my program. I currently am an intern for Bosch, specifically manufacturing engineering of Gold Wire Bonding for TCU's. I honestly never knew what an NSX was until I saw this car when i was young. I was more of a VW/Audi guy.

My future plans for this car will be kind of mild. I might do the NSX-R spoiler and some ADV.1 wheels, but thats about it. I have to look in the records, but I believe the car has some dealer installed headers. I don't know what the car is worth with low miles, but I am pretty sure I got a good deal. Sorry I only have one cell phone pic at the time. I have a few more shots on my camera I will load up next time...

Congrats on the purchase, nice ride.
try not to mod it too much and definitely keep the original parts, wheels, etc.
Not many low mileage examples floating around out there, you are lucky to be an owner and caretaker, enjoy the experience.

Thanks, I treat it like a baby right now. I put about 400 miles on it last weekend to see how everything worked. No problems at all. I left the car back home until july, to get detailed and the scratch removed off the spoiler.

Did it ever have any maintenance done?

Not that I know of. The oil had been done in 2006. Before i bought the car, I took it to my house and looked at the timing belt and did a compression check. All the rubber was good and compression/leak down was perfect. The oil wasn't gunked and the gas has a stabilizer in it... luckily i bought the car from a man who owns a chemical company.

NICE !

Amazing how these cars turn up, never driven, just parked away. With the limited number of NSXs built it amazes me how this happens time after time. It's like 5% of these cars were bought and never driven.

Get ready for the timing belt conversation.... someone will bring it up along with the required maintenance list.

Very nice time capsule car. Congrats!

well hopefully you drive the shit out of it, make up for lost time. while it sat in prison intill you saved its life.

well done

and congrats your gonna love it way more than some old

rotary engine. LOL

18 yr old car with no maintenance... first thing I'd be doing is having tb/wp and all coolant hoses changed to be safe.

Nice find! I too came from the VW background, my previous car was the famous/infamous 1992 Corrado VR6 red/tan manual. Great fun, but NO NSX! As others have said make sure and take care of the defferred maint. Mine also had the original tb/wp from purchase in '91, so that was done immediately after purchase. Make sure to keep it as stock as possible and drive her, she has a lot of lost driving time to make up for as do you!

Nice catch! You shouldn't do any upgrades to this car and even remove the headers! This car will be worth so much in 10 years you whish that you would listen to us!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't leave us in suspense what was the damage? PS. bring it to the NSXPO...

Congrats! Good find. You keep hanging out with NSX crowd. You will end up changing it. It's just a matter of time unless you plan to sell it.

Exactly goa360 - look at yours with that rear motorcycle mod

(I probably would have paint matched it though...)

I would keep this car completely stock. You're very lucky to find one with such low mileage and condition.

1st mod. Bilstien shocks on the lower perch. Good investment and it'll set like Honda should've done it. Nice find and congrats.

I say dont mod it at all like others have said it will be worth so much money you will thank us.

but its your car enjoy it in the end its only a car.

Enjoy that pristine car! Whoa! I can't believe the mileage on that poor forgotten NSX! :frown:

Drive it, mod it if you want to, post up pics, keep the stock stuff, have a blast. I doubt that you bought it to keep it in a cave like the PO did. Don't feel bad when you get the "mod bug" like most of us here have. Just make sure you can turn everything back to stock if you ever decide that's what you want.

93 is a very nice year... with such low miles...

Lucky it was your neighbor. I suspect that gave you the inside track.

Beautiful car...

NSX's are the type of car that many who purchased them, really babied and pampered them. Their pride an joy.

Others enjoy the heck out of them and drive them like they stole'm.

Personally, I would mod it the way you want, but keep all the original parts to be able to restore it back to original.

Be thankful and enjoy it, no matter what you decide.

Awesome find.... 18 year old car with 7000 miles on it, comes out to 388.89 miles per year. Your 400 miles is already over it's yearly average

Yeah, I plan on keeping the motor dead stock. I might do the downforce intake kit.

The only thing I will definitely be doing is the NSX-R wing and hood, and some ADV.1 wheels
