Lol... that's cool. I hope they actually put some time into it, would make for a great new "Star Wars" type saga, since Lucas ruined it.
 
Man I love cartoons, in fact I am loving the fact that my son is finally old enough now for me to buy dvds of the old skool shows just so i can watch them with him.

My faves have all been mentioned:
Starblazers (Space Sruiser Yamato...I just bought the entire orig series on dvd)
Battle of the Planets (G-Force, Gatchaman..again, I have the entire first series in Japanese on dvd and the remake from the late 90's).
Transformers
Macross
Bugs Bunny
Pink Panther
Schoolhouse Rock

and does anyone remember "Wait till your Father gets home!"?

I thought Tiamat was the coolest looking dragon!
 
Definitely Flip the Frog. Also, Farmer Gray (there were always about 10 million mice). Grew up with a love for classical and jazz music because of these.

When I was a kid my favorite was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a close second Duck Tales.
 
Gigglesnort Hotel - Blob scared the crap out of me as a kid, that voice still haunts me. It was one weird show.

i remember these, too.

back then, tv station's (and their 3 licensed channels) were off line more than they were showing programming, so this was what we saw <7am each morning:

SO what do all you "ol' farts" think of all the NEW cartoons out now? I think they really are bizzare and would not let any of my future kids see most of them. I would stay with the "classics".

Ps- i hate that sing along crap. omg is is horses
