Factory 2013 NSX info sent to dealers

Just playing, WingZ, we know you can take it.

Back on topic slightly, there is a rumor saying the 2012 Civic Type-R will feature a 2.0L Turbocharged Engine. Not sure how accurate it is but check it out: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/273562/honda_civic_type_r_is_back.html

Oh it doesn't but we all got spanked in this thread once already:biggrin:

From most posts wishes and wants NSX 2.0 will have little following here. Seems like majority of owners posting aren't looking for the tech Honda will be offering. I think those owners will get past the GTR's looks and start buying used GTR's as the price comes down.

As for the Civic Type R if it does go turbo odds are heavy against it being factory turbo from Honda. They just just don't have any interest in FI and are betting everything on batteries for better MPG/emissions to be "green".

I think that third motor is for regeneration only, I doubt it is hooked up to the front wheels although I could be wrong. When is the show? Sick of all this speculation and having to get information from you of all people. LOL

For anyone here that has not driven the 3.5l Honda engine; all I can say it DOES NOT belong in a super car. It is a boring engine to drive. There is no way that the 3.5l in its current trim can possibly power the next gen NSX.
I don't care if you add 60hp electric, boring is boring.

Now, if they let the F1 guys massage the motor with new rods, cams, compression, heads and raise the red line by 1000 then maybe it would be fitting for Honda's new super car.

I am also in the club that thinks a Turbo won't be in the cards.

I don't think this car will break new ground. A sequel is rarely as good as the original.

That's what you get for thinking:tongue: Please reread and slowly the third motor has POWER. 30 Kw or 40hp in this base configuration. Everything will more than likely be beefed up for the NSX.

Well if you'd read instead of always going on about colors you wouldn't have to get it from me. You were in the thread where this was discussed.

Sigh!: Check the Honda earth dreams link a few posts up as it's a brand new engine with brand new tech that even in the current form is making 315hp minimum w/o any hybrid boost and Honda says they have more they can tweak from it.

It's hard to speculate and criticize something that you have not seen or driven. It's almost here, we should wait and see.

The Integra and Legend drove nothing like the NSX either. So it's hard to judge a low revving 3.5 V6 for a sedan and think that they will just plop that in a sports car. Either way, the difference in weight and center of gravity should already make a huge difference.

I'll join in the off-topic, since we're all just waiting for the real info anyway...

ooooh...Honda is going to put a 2.0L 4cyl turbo in a Civic Type-R that gets a whopping 10 more horsepower than my 2.0L 19-year old MR2 turbo. Way to go Honda...

Seesh, what's with all of the Honda hate? I've never been a die hard Honda fan, but I will say that if the 2.0 redlines at 8K, then it will be a blast to drive. Turbo + Vtec = Awesome. The US MR2s had that silly power choke at 5500 rpm and it's very disappointing. The CT20B should have made its way over here officially.

Also I imagine the Civic will probably dyno close to 200whp when it's finally measured because Honda likes to advertise lower than their actual ratings. The 3.0 NSX averaging 240whp is prime example. The last gen hi-rev Si puts down close to 190whp for many examples. 11-12% drivetrain lost is not probable!

please make sure you guys going to the show download as many pics as possible including interior.

Wingz I'm trusting in you that you will properly photograph the right models and not just take a bunch of car photos. Don't fail me.

I am jealous.
No need. What I see you shall see:biggrin:

The plan is to have start a thread before I leave and send pics to Ekin to load as my goal is to beat Vtec.net. Then as the crowd disperses I'll get more shots and tell you guys how it compares dimesionally to our car.

You know I have two track mind cars and chicks:biggrin:

Somehow I have a feeling the Acura girl will have small boobs and weak legs but Honda will have picked her because she is efficient and eats very little.

LOL! Actually the last one was decent but only a C cup. I still chatted her up as she knew Hondas and she was 5'10 w/o heel's. Daddy like the tall ones:biggrin:

Imagine some guy from Honda told to quietly monitor this site and report back with what NSX owners want/think. The shit he has to sift through... He has that dedicated Japanese ethic and is trying to be professional, yet the two guys that have talked about serious deposits and purchases of the new car are now talking about their model's bra size. He is going to fail in his report and commit suicide.

And it will all be your fault because of this nonsense you constantly post.

First off I'm sure Honda gave up on this site about 800 times "It needs to be a turbo" ago. They've no reason to pay attention here. There are maybe about what five people left who bought their car new and would buy a new NSX anyway.

Japanese guys are more into bra sizes than me and that is almost impossible:biggrin:

Doc, I understand there will be no interior. It will be a "buck". A model of a concept NOT a real car.
The last time they did this after the show the model cracked from the loading process or how cold it was and it never was seen again.

I want a new car to happen and have since 1999 and if they make one I will buy it but I don't believe this is the real deal yet. It likely is 2+ years off IF it even happens.
Hybrid tech is changing so fast 2 years is like a lifetime and "what's hip today soon will be passe'."

I'll believe it and put down a deposit WHEN and if I see it and they make it. I'm afraid my money is safe in the bank.

You are kidding... you know it won't even have an interior? why am I all excited? This really won't mean a lot. Anyone can make a concept body. I can make one.

You didn't know that? It was stated multiple times from different sources. This will be an exterior concept ONLY, probably the exact same concept buck that was shown in Las Vegas.

I agree that this is meaningless. I feel like Honda got some positive response from the leaked Avengers shots and decided to quickly hobble together a coupe based on that vehicle. Now they're scrambling trying to flesh out an actual design. If this had been more developed they would not be showing us this exterior concept only.

I have a strong feeling that they will not present final engine specs because quite frankly they haven't figured that part out yet.

I really hope I'm 100% wrong and that they're much further along, but I doubt it.

I am awed at how many people on this forum are certain about some
aspect of a car that has yet to be introduced, even as a concept.

cheers,

this is all a mental exercise.but like Joe I am starting to get excited again.....there is a little twinge in the nether regions:redface:

Its a fun enjoyable mental excercise like talking about your friend's hot cousin that is coming to visit for the summer and hoping that she moves in and sits next to you in math class
