F430 review in Autoweek

ya, had a good article in top gear about this. they said ferrari pretty much put it out cause of the new gallardo. the 360 couldnt keep up with it so here is there competition. the inside of that car is crazy nice

Thanks- I hadn't seen that!

I never cared much for the 360. But the 430 looks hot, super hot. Alas $180k is bit too much for me

In the article, it states that 85% of F-cars are bought without a manual transmission. Call me old fashioned (or old), but to me, driving a "sports car" is all about the left foot, and right hand, downshifting and accelerating, "driving" the car. I do agree, that if most of your driving is stop and go traffic, it's very inconvenient, but that's what "beater" or daily drivers are for. An associate of mine is currently considering getting rid of his 911TT (manual) and getting a Gallardo with the e-gear, so his wife can enjoy it!!! WTF, he got her the SC430, let her enjoy that!!!

Well said. IMO if you can afford a Gallardo, then buy an E55 AMG with the auto for the daily commute ;)

you know why, its very rich people who want ferraris and lamborghinis to show thier status as being whealthy. most of the people who buy these cars are not car lovers at all. just want everyone to know how much money they make.

Yes and from what I heard today the 430 is already trading at 300K if you want to be one of the first to get one.

We reached a point where being sporty (= choosing the manual transmission) is the slow way... the new Ferarri and Lambo e-gear are veeeeery fast.

But I am old school too: give me that nice manual grill on the Ferrari! :p
