F1 rules?

What F1 rules will be broken, ignored, overlooked, disregarded, maligned, misapplied, altered, or just plain changed to ensure Michael's world championshiship in the remaining GP races? The suspense is killing me?

At the last event at Monza, Alonzo was penalized 10 grid spots for blocking another driver during the 3rd qualifying round. IMO, there was no way for him to block anyone as he was on a "flyer" trying to improve his grid placement during the final seconds of Q3. How could he possibly slow anyone else when he is pushing during the closing seconds?

Also, in previous races Michael has improved his position by shortcutting chicanes and passing under yellow, and he has never suffered any sort of penalty.

As Alonzo said in Monza, "F1 is no longer a sport".

I'm not saying I agree with the penalty, but the facts are slightly different:

  • Alonso was late to leave the pits and consequently was still on his "out" lap while Massa, behind him, was on his flying lap.

  • Alonso stated that being aware of this, he pushed hard on his out lap.

  • The FIA's rules are that a driver on his flying lap should be given priority.

  • The FIA claimed that data showed that despite the gap between the two cars, Massa's performance was affected in a small way by the wake of Alonso's car ahead.

  • In this qualifying session, pole position was determined by 2/1000ths of 1 second.

The FIA have since changed the rules so that in order for a driver to be penalised for blocking, he must have been doing it intentionally. To me this is even harder to enforce fairly - now they're not just looking at data, but also ruling on what a driver was thinking??

I agree that F1 is not the sport it used to be. What would you do if you were running the show?

If I were running that show I certainly wouldn't be sitting at my Mac right now posting on Prime... I'd probably be making decisions, good or bad, from a penthouse in Monaco with a bathtub full of champagne and girls!

I don't buy the conspiracy theories here.

Without the car, the team and some amazing driving MS would not have overcome a 25 point deficit half way through the season and now be tied.

Michael is a very controversial driver for sure. He'll do anything to win. Maybe that's why he does.

Alonso, is starting to pout and wine. Not the makings of a true champion. You could see it on his face after the last race. The team has a little of that in them to. Remember when they piled up the Michelin's after the race for all to see? What was that about?

lol... But I think you'd have to fill the tub with Fosters... They are the official sponsor...

I like where your going though...

I don't buy the conspiracy theories but I also do not believe MS deserves to win by playing his usual dirty tricks. I almost want to see him get ahead at Suzuka and see what will happen at Interlagos when Alonso is about to overtake him...

Will it be another Damon Hill incident at Adelade or Villeneuve at Jerez? I say, if MS takes out Alonso while in a points leading scenerio, MS should be automatically deducted 10 points.

A public spanking would be good too.

I wonder how many people remember that incident. Ugly, wasnt it.

Senna said before the race that he was going to take out Prost... and he did as he said he would.

MS likes to dance and paint pictures... why not be a man about it just call it as it is? At least it would gain him some respect. Too late for that now...
