Drying the car....What do you use?

Has anyone with a black car used a California Blade? I have one and have used it a good deal on my other 2 cars, but they are White and Silver respectively so no small scratches to worry about.

It is a bit of a chore to remove the fine scratches I wouldn't want to add to the process.

I used to use a leaf blower but it was just too loud, even though it did the best job. I now use a California water blade and touch up with towels. I think a chamois does a better job than cotton towels but it is too much of a hassel to take care of.

The thing I like about the California water blade is that it is very quick.

I agree with many here.

I use a California Water Blade and Cotton towels.

I have used the blade for years on black, red, silver, grey and blue cars. Never a scratch. Just make sure the blade is clean.

I also have an air compressor to get the water out of the cracks, etc.

That thing (California) is absolutely great. I use the same method and procedure.

just kidding
I use bath towels. Too poor for anything more fancy ha ha.

I use the combo of the California Water Blade and Absorber (one in each hand). The blade gets the bulk of the water off the car fast, and it doesn't take much time or effort to pick up the rest with the Absorber. Like everyone else, I use little pressure and always wash and dry my cars in the shade.

For anything I miss (i.e. the streaks from the endlessly dripping rear view mirrors), I'll use the Meguire's Quick Detailer and a 100% terry cloth towel.

Sounds like a lot of us use varying combinations of these products.

I used to use a chamois, but was never happy with the results. And, in general, I prefer drying with the Absorber over terry towels...but terry towels work great with the Quick Detailer and wax.
