I can't seem to find a thread with what folks have ordered/will order.

Here is mine:

Ext: 130R White
Int: Saddle/Black Alcantara
Seats: Electric
Headliner: Alcantara
Electronics: ELS Premium, no Satellite Radio
Roof: Black Aluminum
Wheels: Y spoke
Other Info: No CF
MSRP: $173,300

General: Supposedly the 160th production car to be built. Dealer thought June 2016 delivery was in the cards, but since the start of production appears to be 2 weeks behind schedule, I am hoping for July.

Thanks for starting this thread. Will be interested to see the preferences of others. I've put down a $5k deposit and am #5 at my dealer for the following build:

Ext: Nord Gray
Int: Saddle
Seats: Electric
Headliner: Black Cloth
Electronics: ELS Premium with Satellite Radio
Roof: Black Aluminum
Wheels: Y spoke
Other Info: CF interior trim, illuminated door sill, black calipers
MSRP: $177,600

Dealer said there would be no markup from MSRP. But they have no idea when my order will be delivered other than they assured me it would be a 2017 model -- which I assume means they've either received already or believe they will receive at least 5 allocated to their dealership for this model year.

#2 , at local dealer $50,000 nonrefundable deposit

Just a point, but why would anyone buy the charger for $300 when it's just a relabelled C-Tek charger, better versions of which can be had for less than a third of the price?

It does look like a relabeled C-Tek Multi US 4.3 doesn't it?
Appears the Honda version has a special plug to fit in the NSX pass side socket.
So $85 for the charger and $215 for the special end plug :)

Paid $18K Deposit on 3/21/16. I am #1 order at an SF Bay Area dealer (supposedly "in the middle" in terms of national sequencing of dealers' first orders-- but they don't know overall national sequence). Order has been stuck at "All Configurations Locked" stage since 4/2/2016.

I can't seem to find a thread with what folks have ordered/will order.

Here is mine:

****

MSRP: $17,300

Expert negotiations. Congrats. The sad thing is that $17.3K is plausible base MSRP for a Honda.....

Also, should the thread be moved to "Prospective Owners" area? I never know where to post stuff, but this seems particularly suited for that area, no?

I feel like a sucker for ordering the floor mats--- Porsche has desensitized me to this sort of thing and I assumed (wrongly, it seems) that the car didn't otherwise come with mats. And now I'm afraid to ask to change it (for fear of delays).

Finally, I note that no one has gotten close to $200K. Where are the lovers of fancy wheels and carbon fiber?

chrisn, thanks for the heads up on the typo.

I just edited it to the real number to $173,300.

I am into CF but besides the roof, the rest of the packages just seem like tacked on stuff (very cool looking stuff).

I liked the CF roof but at the end of the day, I didn't think the $6,000 spend gets me a car that is any better.

Here is mine:

Ext: 130R White
Int: Black Leather/Semi Analine
Seats: Electric
Headliner: Alcantara
Electronics: ELS Premium, Full Nav (Sirius N/A in UK)
Roof: Carbon - no choice
Wheels: Ugly - no choice
Other Info: CF interior option, CF exterior splitter and side skirts, CF engine cover
Confirmed Price:£165,000

Adamantiun, do you have a sales tax to pay on top of the nearly $240,000 price at current axchange rates?

No, that's all in. I make it $231k

Can someone link me to a picture of this special connector? Ctek do an adapter to avoid the use of crocodile clips directly to the battery terminals.

It's a stock part of their loom is you disconnect the crocodile attachment to reveal the special plug but the female end of it is available to hard wire into your car.

It's common to do this so that you can plug the ctek in to a remote location of your choosing to enable you to leave it connected without the bonnet being obviously open.

I only know what I read on the NSX configurator.
Perhaps the socket on the NSX is compatible with the supplied end on the standard C-Tek charger.
We may have to wait until someone can look at the socket in the NSX and compare.

Interesting that everyone seems to like the white exterior/black interior combo. I like the idea of that, especially with the full leather ebony, and debated ordering that. I also really like the andaro paints -- especially the blue but worried that I will lose my license with a bright color and too many speeding tickets. Surprised that it doesn't seem that many are ordering the CF roof. That is one of the options I wish I could see in person as I could've been persuaded but from the pics it is just not that much of a visual difference so I just kept with the standard black aluminum...

We still have a really small number of folks here, so hard to tell what the full year distribution will be.

I like white because it has high visibility (as in the other guy can see you and remember to use his brakes), it is cheery and 130R is in my mind a version of Japanese racing white that fits a Japanese super car.

I really like color contrasts so the free bicolour roof is a plus. I like CF roofs and have seen many on BMWs and they look great. I just didn't see the value here and passed. Rest assured, the dealers who are loading up their cars will be including this option and you should have opportunities to see it.

My preference for color contrast continues to the interior. The saddle with black Alcantara is more of a luxury look. I am a big Alcantara fan and am happy that we can get this for a lower price than full leather, as it is typically the opposite case.

In speaking with my dealers Tech who went for training, the main advantage of getting the charger is they only install the wiring and plug then. Not having any idea of what would be required after the fact to one myself which looks like factory install (since I have not seen it), I figure if I can pay $800 merely for red or silver vs. black paint on 4 calipers, I'll just spend another $300 get the damn charger so it is wired.

At NSXPO last year the new NSX on the stage had its lights on for effect.
I noticed a plug in that went into the front grill while the NSX was on the stage.
I'm wondering if the plug-in installation runs the socket to the grill area for easy use.

Does anyone know if the carbon fibre roof is a replacement for the stock aluminium or simply a decorative cover?

If the former then it would be the only functional CF on the car. The question remains, how much weight does it actually save over aluminium? on the plus side, other than in a rotating assembly, it is in the most beneficial place on the car.

Got my nouvelle blue yesterday

Well at least it's the identical nouvelle blue paint used on the actual car

Thats for the traditonal battery, the Hybrid ones must be charged every 3 months and the car must run in SPORT or TRACK mode for at least 30 minutes.

So how does one charge the hybrid if in storage such that starting is not easily accomplished. Plus I'm surprised if they need charging. And has some seen documentation indicating they do not hold charge well such that a charge is needed so soon after being put away? If need they should provide a means for high voltage charge like a plug in car.

Are we talking about the 12V accessory battery or the High Voltage battery in the hybrid system. When I first spec'ed the car, I thought it had a "plug-in hybrid" dimension and that the Acura charger was a way to top off the hybrid battery to get more initial "Quiet" range. But the impression I get is that the charger in the configurator if for the 12V system ONLY and is more of a battery tender. Is the low voltage accessory battery a LiPo model? Maybe that's why a cheap battery tender (designed for conventional leas batteries) doesn't work?

In any case, for purposes of my order, I didn't buy one on the assumption that I can pick one up later if needed.

But now Gadgetman's info on the factory-installed wiring/plug has me worried (although I'm not sure why-- I guess just "FOMO").

That's for the traditional battery, the Hybrid ones must be charged every 3 months and the car must run in SPORT or TRACK mode for at least 30 minutes.

I read this to mean if the car sits for more than 3 months the hybrid battery will be completely discharged.
So when you start it after say 6 months, it will take 30 mins. of driving before the hybrid battery is fully charged again.

Extended storage connected to a battery charger only charges the 12V battery, not the Lithium battery. I think the only way to charge the TMU batteries is from driving the car. The owners manual hasn't been completed yet so I'm not sure about specifics yet.

From page 418 of my RLX Sport Hybrid's owner's manual:

Acura said:
The High Voltage battery gradually discharges when the vehicle is not in use. As a result, if your vehicle is parked for an extended period of time, the battery level may get low. Keeping your vehicle's battery level low can shorten the battery life. To maintain the battery, drive your vehicle for more than 30 minutes to recharge the battery at least once every three months. To help maintain the battery life, when parking under the direct sunlight during summer, try find a shaded area.

I don't see why the NSX Sport Hybrid would have different instructions. So JD Cross and The Kid are both correct.

I'm not sure about the NSX/RLX system but the Lexus RX400h batteries can deliver 288 volts and the electric motors can run on 280 - 650 volts.
I'm not an electrical guy but I suspect charging batteries that can deliver 288 volts requires a much different charging system than plugging in a 12 V battery tender for the starter battery.

I just realized we may have a bigger HIDDEN issue here. (curse of being a retired EE) The ICE is started by the rear E motor which at 50+ ponies isn't staring on 12v. (No way ... no how). And as we know (so far) there is no other starter motor. 12v will be running all other components (I suspect) like a lot of computers, lights, and accessories as we know them to date.
So the Hybrid battery needs to be maintained charged enough to at least start the car. Forget Quiet driving mode interest at this point as getting the beast (ICE) stared (or able to star) is key. we have no clutch so popping one to start it is also off the table.
I'm now thinking they should have included a standard 12V starter as a back up you can switch in (if needed)?.
Look at it this way... What happens when your stranded with a too low or dead (Li Hybrid portion) battery and AAA comes out and says Huh (or W T F... cuz we are)
Hey, maybe the latest delay is to engineer in a B/U 12V starter for the ICE?
ACURA... are you reading this and if so saying .... ooops another delay? Hope not.

It would be nice (though doubtful) that there is a 12V to HV inverter and converter in batt charger set up to keep a HV trickle on the Hybrid (Li) Batts.
OR... are those actually 12 Volt (doubtful) and they use an inverter and transformer to get to HV

Hmmm
Hey (the) Kid
Got Contacts to do some digging or may the schooled Tech knows?
