Daily Drivers

I bought my '93 exactly 3 years ago with 70,000 miles on the clock. She now is just shy of 175,000 miles. I drive it every day rain or shine, perform normal maintenance and only use Amsoil 10W-30 and Auto-RX.

I took a quick glance at the link, and have to say, that stuff sounds like another snake oil; first there was Slick 50, then Prolong, ZMAX, etc. You're using a great synthetic oil so why bother dumping $20+ a bottle on some elixir, that who knows, may even be conflicting with the intended additives in the Amsoil?

Auto-RX is the bomb. Even the picky bastards over at BITOG use it. I gave my car the full Auto-RX flush treatment at 74,000 and 129,000 miles. Since the last full treatment I only use 3 oz. per oil change as per the recommended maintenance schedule. The last time the valve covers were off for an adjustment the motor was so damn clean you would have sworn it was brand new.

All the parts in the cylinder head being clean is awesome. But, how do you know it's attributable to the additive and not to regular oil change intervals? I've briefly seen BITOG on occasion, but don't feel like spending inordinate amounts of time mulling over stuff that's way too technical. Do they maybe have a control experiment for this stuff?

one thing to look out for using the NSX as a daily driver would be to make sure it is lined up correctly because factory tires wear out quickly and they arent giving those away if you havent noticed.

but it is so much fun to wear a set out

Look into churches. They usually have some nice parking lots.
