My NSX is financed through Keypoint Credit Union in California. When I moved from California to North Carolina I received a forwarded statement, so I telephoned them to provide my new address. Instead of changing my address, they put a mail block on my account, so I didn't receive a statement for months. No big deal right? I always pay electoriically through my bank anyway, and I always pay more than the amount due.

Fast forward. I want to pay off my loan so I telephoned to get my balance. Guess what? I don't pass the "security test".

Them: "What's you amount due every month?"
Me: "I don't know because I haven't received statemens for months, but I can tell you how much I pay every month."
Them: "That doesn't count."

Them: "What is you California driver's license number?"
Me: "I don't know. I don't live in California. I live in Norht Carolina. Do you want that number?"
Them: 'No. You don't pass the security test."

Me: "Do you want my Social Security number for identification?"
Them: "No. That's not part of the security test."

Me: "May I speak with your supervisor?"

Supervisor: "I am the supervisor and you don't pass our security test and we can't help you."
Me: "Who is your supervisor?"
Supervisor: "I can't tell you that."
Me: " Can I tell you that the loan is for a car and give you the information regarding a description of the vehicle including the VIN?"
Supervisor: "No. That's not part of the security test."
Me: "Who could I write to resolve this and be able to pass your security test?"
Supervisor: "I can't tell you that."
Me: "What can you do for me?"
Supervisor: "Nothing."

I have been in this endless loop for at least 30 telephone calls. Who would want to pay off my loan balance but me?

This is crazy! :frown: :frown:

I bet if you stop paying you would all of a sudden pass the security test.

:D Damn...along with his credit...but why don't you just give your old address or CA driver's license to "pass" the test? (although something tells me you already tried that....)

Wow- I can't imagine they're that big of a pain in the neck. Well, I'd try again and use your old information (and try to find old statements to find what you owe each month).

If everything else fails, another place to get the balance is on your credit report- it'll show you how much you owe.

here here to that one!! you should document all your attempts, mails, etc. this way if something falls through.. you have something to state your attempts to work with them.

Oh believe me, I've tried using the "old" information. In terms of not paying...I've been jerked around so much, I would hate to damage my credit history and then trying to straighten that out with them and reporting bureaus.
