Formula One - spoiler alert!

This was one of the most exciting seasons of Formula One I have seen!

Well done to Kimi, an overdue champion.

Alonso and Hamilton made the season a nail biter right down to the last race.

Congratulations, indeed. What an exciting season final.

I loved the Ron Dennis interview right after the race,
- 100mio
- construction title
- drivers title
all gone. "So what do you think about the race?" He looked like he's going to go berserk.

it would appear it not completely over yet......BMW and Williams under investigation for 'technical irregularities'

I guess it's a irregularity with fuel temp and if found guilty, the drivers would get DQ'd from the race, moving Hamilton up a few places, winning him the championship that he didn't deserve after today's drive.

But there are no charges filed so Kimi is good to go.

Great season indeed but I want to see a better one next year. I want to see more teams in top ranks, not just Ferrari vs. McLaren and then "the best of the rest". I'd like to see Honda, BMW, Williams and of course, Renault bring a hard game to Ferrari and McLaren.

I'd still be cheering for Ferrari and would like to see Kimi repeat, or Massa to get his first.

As far as Hamilton, I'm very impressed with him and I know he'll get the title someday, he's got it in him, he just made a couple of rookie mistakes in the last couple of races

Don't take this the wrong way, if you click on the link and it is posted right after the race... HELLOWWWW....

Yes, according the information give, the temperature irregularity could give up to 10 HP gain on the engine. BUT, the racing stewerts decided not to charge BMW and Williams team, which in a way, a very odd decision (considering the fact that Honda was banned for two races for a "gray area" technical violation). McLaren however, is going to file a complaint, which is a proper thing to do. FIA should make a fair decision on this matter, considering the fact that they have not been all that fair with most of their decisions in the recent years. Hamilton could still get the championship; after all, millions of dollars is on the line based on this matter.

What an incredible season. Either way(kimi or Lewis) it is the best season since the Senna years.

Absolutely incredible season!! Can't wait for 2008 to come around! I was glad to see Kimi win, though I was kind of hoping Lewis would rally through his mistake in the beginning to come back and make it an amazing victory, but Kimi really deserved this one after his bad luck over the years!

Also, best quote of the entire season:

Peter Windsor:
"Rubens, what's your most memorable thing about 2007?"

Barrichello:
"The car... I don't know how they made a car that was so bad!"

:D :D :D :D

I hope not. That would be a great injustice to Kimi, who by all measures deserves it more than Lewis.

Re: McLaren's appeal

Arrgghh!!!!! oh for the good old days when things were decided on the track.:mad: Lewis made his rookie mistakes and the Red cars were the class of the field today, can't we just leave it at that?

As much as I have a love-hate thing going with this season, even I'm ready for it to be over and move on to new topics like "where's Fred going?" He better go somewhere.

The way Ferrari went after McLaren this year with this so called "spy" scandle was completely out of line, and FIA ruled in their favor by punishing McLaren with record penalty, even though McLaren did not use Ferrari design. Spying on other team is normal under F1, McLaren just happened to received the information on a silver platter without having to do much work. They didn't ask for the information. In fact, Stepneygate wasn't even panalized even though he was under Ferrari watch. FIA often ruled in favor of Ferrari and the history shows it. Conspiracy theory is only a theory until it is proven true, but the chance of the whole drama set up by Ferrari is a complete real scenario. It is a stereo type to make fun of an Italian team run by a French guy and a british national was used as a scapegoat...

Don't forget, even Honda did some thing questionable back in the early 80's when they had problems with the turbo engines (they blow up); it wasn't until Honda received an actual valve from Tag motor when they started to have reliability. Therefore, Honda should have been stripped all of their points during that era.

If FIA deduct the points from William and BMW for their violation, and give Hamilton the Championship, it is justified. I think it is a perfect example of poetic justice. Ferrari is a strong team, but they are no saints. They often play dirty and have violated rules just as much as other teams. It would be funny to see Ferrari loose the driver's championship because of other "none" involved teams. You know they would have ask for the same if the scenario is reversed. We all know the phrase "You are guilty only if you get caught," and Ferrari don't always get caught till distance future after the fact.

This is a team sports that involves machinary, and championship is related to technical part of the sports, who ever gets the best car wins, and in this case, both drivers has the best car, period.

Either way, both drivers fought hard and who ever gets the crownd will be good for the sports. It is always good to see a new champ.

Sorry about that, It was still a great race though. I didn't think of it, because when I'm trying to stay away from the outcome of a game or race, I stay away from anything that might spoil it. I know where you're coming from, I just didn't think someone would check these posts after the race if they didn't want to talk about it.

I fixed it for the next guy. Ok, I guess you can't edit post titles even though it says you can.

Guys when you hit new posts guess what, Congrats Kimi, is up there with all the others:rolleyes:Oh well thanks for your consideration.

Why? If Massa were driving competitively, he would have won that race. But since his bosses held him back, for Kimi's benefit, Kimi wins and Lewis loses. (catchy phrase, but not very fair)

Massa said it himself that "he was glad to help the team out". F1 is a team sport and if a driver is not gonna see more gain from a win than his teammate, he'll move over.

F1 prohibits team orders so Kimi won on strategy, so to speak. He was putting up better lap times than Massa so they kept him out few extra laps before the final pit stop, with a cut up right front tire, just so he could gain some more time and get out ahead. He got out right in front of Massa.

Back in the MS days, Schumi was always the #1 driver. That is not the case this season, both Ferrari drivers were equal, up until the point few races ago where Massa fell behind and Ferrari announced that Kimi would be the #1 driver for the remainder of the season cause he actually had a shot. Massa had a stronger start to the season than Kimi, and had he kept it up I'm sure Ferrari would have put Kimi in the supporting role.

That would happen on any F1 team.

Massa did it because Ferrari granted him a new contract, so he didn't have to go to Toyota...lol j/k

McLaren dropped the ball this year, they should have won the driver's title.

That cannot be said strongly enough. McLaren had 2 drivers that should have easily won. They needed to coach Hamilton and tell him to drive for 3rd-5th and he would have won it all. Instead, he drove to win the race and we saw what happened.

Masa is a professional driver and "gets it". He'll be in it next year again, and who knows, maybe it will be Kimi helping him win the title.

Just finished watching it myself...great race and I am glad Kimi won.

Lewis will get it soon enough.

They didn't drop the ball as much as the drivers did.

OK, so maybe they did drop the ball in this last race as far as Alonso is concerned because he drove very well and still couldn't even challenge the Ferraris.

As far as Hamilton, he let himself down. He had a great season and made a name for himself, telling everyone he's here to stay! I think that it is probably better for him as a developing driver that he didn't win this year. He made some pretty dumb rookie mistakes which are all now gonna serve as a learning experience and make him a better driver next season. Had he won, his ego would probably get in the way of his talent next year.

Tough lesson but next year he'll know that sometimes just trying to stay in the top five is better than winning.
