Carrera GT fastest car on Nürburgring

wow, thats pretty amazing. imagine the rush of driving that thing must be. ive yet to see one in person, porsche decided at the last minute to not have it at the chicago auto show  , but what are you gonna do. someday ill run into one.

But, as we fantasize about owning one, you have to wonder, at $450,000.00, would it be better to just get a Lambo AND a Viper AND a ZO6 AND a big garage to put them all in, and STILL have enough left to by a H2 for the wife... (not really doing the math here, but you get the idea)

This was parked in the parking structure near where I work. I got this off of the S2ki.com forums. The guy who posted it works near me as well. Apparently the owner also has a 360 and a Continental GT. Parked like that, he's just asking for a door ding. :D

I saw one on the street outside my condo the other day. I was walking with this girl and said hey did you know that car costs $450,000? She couldn't believe it...she's like it looks like your car...I don't get it :p

Girls though, the only thing the cars have in common is some side vents :p

At least she kind of knows that it almost looks like your car. Most girls that I know only know that cars should have 4 semi round tires that get you from point A to point B. They have no clue when it comes to suspensions, engines, powerbands, etc.....

The thing is, those people that bought a Carrera GT already have a garage full of exotics. Why would they want a Viper or a Z06 to bring down the value of their collection?

They also bought excusivity at such limited production car. For all you know, it could be a much better investment than all those cars combined say 10 years down the road.

Tell that to Steve T

2004 NSX Berlina Black-Camel
2004 Machine Silver Z06 / 2003 Red Viper SRT-10 / 2004 Silver CTS-V / 2004 Yellow SSR / 2002 35th Camaro SS Convertible / 2002 Candy Red Prowler / 2001 Orange Prowler / 2001 Silver Prowler / 2002 H1 Hummer / 1970 Chevy Custom Truck / 1969 Chevelle SS 396 / 1969 Garnet Red Camaro SS 350 / 1968 Chevy Truck LT1 / 1967 Hugger Orange Camaro 400 / 1955 Yellow Chevy Truck / 1934 Ford Sedan

Oh wait, I don't see a Carrera GT listed in there. My eyes got a little tired halfway through your list. By the way, are you going to get one?

I don't see a Carrera GT either. CDub is right. We are talking about collections of totally different magnitudes.
When you can spend half a million just like that for such an exclusive car, I doubt the guy is beating his head thinking he could have bought a trailer home, a Vette, a Hummer, Viper, entire country music collections.

You know what is ironic though. It's that the Carrera GT costs $450k. Even if you could afford that, to step up to the Enzo, it would cost you an extra $200k!

And yet, they got snapped up even before they rolled off of the assembly line. When you are dealing with cars in this price range, it is more a emotional decision instead of a financial one.

Just like a $1000 per night hotel. To most of us, it is crazy to be spending that kind of money for one night when you are spending most of your time sleeping. Staying there for a week can almost get you a CTSC. But for some, they do it because they can. I say all the power to them as long as the money is legit!

I saw a red one on the road in carmel. I have never felt so lame in my life.

Last time I made a similar argument, one of them asked me if I knew the difference between several type of shoes (pumps, clogs, loafers, slingbacks,...) Needless to say I left with my tail between my legs... :o

Well I am running a fairly impressive 6:46.226 lap time in my Carrera GT.......puee that is just a game......well thats pretty good! Now time to see what the NSX type R can do! :D The game by the way is Project Gotham Racing 2.

I would just say, I may not know all those kind of shoes, but I know which one looks best on you!! :p

Think again. The enzo was probably one of the best car investment opportunities in years. To get one used NOW, you have to be on Ferarris wait list. in order to do that, you have to have owned both an f40 AND f50. Oh, and the going rate is somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 mil i believe

where is carmel?

and most places ive seen, the enzo is going for somewhere around 1.2 million, thats still like double of what the were originally.

So if anyone here had 1.2 million laying around to spend on a car like they were buying a Civic, would they buy the Enzo or somthing else? Or lot's of other cars, mods....?

I would personally get a Mclaren F1 over the Enzo for that kind of money.

That would be a nice car to have. I personally would get several cars that I think are cool and would love to have and modify the hell out of them. Maybe even start a small racing team with an S2000? I would love to do that!

Actually, they are quite a few going for around 1 to 1.2 million and is expected to decline in price from here on out. Many owners, having fulfilled Ferrari's mandatory wait period before they can sell are putting theirs on the market. Anyone, provided you have 1.2 million dollars, can buy one on the used market.

If you could have bought an Enzo new and sold it for 1.2 it would have a been a good investment (as far as cars go) though if you wanted an exotic to keep it's value, the McLaren F1 would be the way to go.

Very close to Monterey Bay and the city of Monterey. Pebble Beach, 17 mile drive, and more notably Laguna Seca are close as well. Incredibly beautiful place.

Sounds like you've been researching the market quite a bit. Looking at buying one? :)

Ha! I wish. Though I have been researching the used exotic market - interesting stuff to a car guy.
