car wash and other matters

I just took delivery of my new baby: '91, silver, heavily modified (h/e/i, CTSC, Tarox brakes, lowered with eib's, light fly, short gears, etc) and, of course, I'm pretty excited. I would, however, advise all not to use Dependable Auto Shippers; they are anything but. Three weeks sitting out in a yard in Florida before transported for just 1000 miles. And even then it was 4 days late!
Anyway it was filthy when I picked it up so I went to one of those washes (Laser wash out here) where nothing touches the car. I got quite a bit of water in through the front end of both side windows, so much that I had to drive out early. Is this a function of a 12 year old car or do you think something else is wrong? New stripping?
I also note that the right speaker doesn't work except when I drive over a bump it cuts in with static for a few secs. Just a connection or needs replacement? [I've read the FAQ and done a search, Forum Nazi, but I still would be interested to hear what other complete, non-alpine systems others have used.] The stereo is really terrible but that may be in comparison to the DSP system in my 540/6.
BTW, the most amazing feature of this car has to be the brakes. Incredible!
Thanks for the help.

They don't really get the car clean IMO; they remove some dirt but it's not like washing the car yourself with a mitt or towel.

The windows have an internal adjustment for the amount of pressure that they exert towards the body. The pressure should be considerable, so that little if any water gets in when washing (and so that they don't "bow" to the outside at high speeds, which makes them noisy). I suspect they need an adjustment. However, I don't normally use a high pressure spray when washing my car so that's just my guess.

P.S. I like your dog.

This is a huge coincidence, because I've been corresponding with another owner from the Wichita area who just bought a '91 silver NSX from the Southeast! (Only way I know you're two different people is that he said he drove his back home.)

Make sure the rubber stopper on the inside of the door by the latch mechanism is adjusted correctly. Try screwing it in a bit and see if it tightens up. Just make sure the door is still flush with the rest of the body.
