Hey, it's that time of the year, and I thought I'd add some books devoted to the NSX to my chrismas list but I couldn't find any?!? There's hundreds (or maybe thousands) of them devoted to my other passion (Prosches), so I was a little dissapointed that I couldn't find anything. I checked the faq and it listed some publications, but no books. Anyone have some favorite titles that I must have missed?

Btw, great board, this is my first post, but I've been lurking for awhile. Lot's of info here.

Thanks.

There are the two Honda publications (books), and they are described in the FAQ's here. You can find the first one on the page occaisionally for sale on eBay, such as this one or this one.. The other is quite a bit harder to find.

It's damned hard finding any literature on the NSX these days. Thank god I saved this old coffee table book on the NSX from about 9 or 10 years ago, when I bought my first NSX (a Black/Black). I doubt you could get this anywhere, and besides, it's in Japanese. It talks at length about the birth of the original NSX-R, has a comparison with a Porsche 911 Carrera RS and a Ferrari 345tb at Suzuka, and also discusses how the NSX's design concepts first came into being. It has a lot of original artist's impressions of what the shape would look like, including the interior. It really puts design proposals like the new Honda HSC into perspective (I doubt that the new NSX will look exactly like the HSC).

This is the cover...

Ooops...my bad...there's no such car as the Ferrari 345tb, I meant to type 348tb. Severe state of inebriation will do that, ya know.

:D

Ahh, missed the "memorabilia" section. Thanks for the reference. Also, didn't think about checking ebay for out of print publications, and to think I only thought ebay sold CARS. :D

Thanks for the tips. And Lazarus, nice shots of your book. Even though I can't read Japanese, I'm jealous. :)

An interesting and inexpensive, but no so nice in the look than the various coffee book edited by Honda, is the "NSX Performance Portfolio". I bought it thru Amazon two years ago.

Is this the book you're speaking of?

Acura-Honda NSX Performance Portfolio 1989-1999 (Motorcycle Performance Portfolio Series)

I pulled this off of Amazon.com but the "Motorcycle Performance Portfolio Series" subtitle confused me. Is it focused primarily on the NSX?

I saw one of those for sale on eBay as well.

Wegiz> Hey, if you do manage to find a copy of the book I referred to above on eBay, by all means, get it. The book also has a really cool chapter on how the NSX-R put in a lap of 8'03.86" at the old Nurburgring course which, at the time, was a record for a street car (I believe).

Cheers.

Here's a couple more pictures to whet your appetite.

Nice photos! Thanks.

8'03.86 sounds very fast for the ring. I think only a few production cars have broken 8 minutes. The recent M3 CSL is one that I know of, and maybe a Porsche GT3 or two. Definitely some nice company to be in. I wonder what a modern stock NSX (non-type R) would do?

Super Autobacs (12645 Beach Blvd. Stanton, Ca. 90680 714-903-9900 ) sells a great book called Hyper Rev Vol. 32 with fabulous photos of all the NSX motor parts, JDM parts, modified cars, a factory tour showing the building of an NSX, and lots more. One minor thing - it is all in Kanji characters which makes reading it problematic for many of us even after many Margaritas ; I looked at it for a long time before I even realized that it should be read from back to front. The store itself is well worth a visit if you find yourself in So. Cal. You know you're in the right place when a store has Roger Yakusawa's Dallara - Honda suspended from the ceiling at the entrance!!!

Japanese Super Cars is available on Amazon.com.
I just ordered one for 13 bucks.
