forgive me, if this is a dead horse issue..i tried searching...but

has anyone dyno'ed a 97+ with just the anytime exhaust? I looked on their site but only saw dynos for the earlier models. I was told that the taitecs give about 20 rwhp..and was comparison shopping. I like the sound of both, but have yet to hear the anytime ex in person.

thanks, any input would be appreciated.

I would be very surprised if any exhaust would alone give you 20HP.. might be achievable with Headers and Exhaust on a 3.0 motor.. i dont think headers give you as much on the 3.2.

the post I got the info from is here:

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23640&highlight=taitec

it shows 18 rwhp with taitec gt exhaust alone and 20 rwhp with exhaust and air intake on a 2003.

so, I was using that info as a base to compare to the anytime exhaust..would love to find the numbers for the anytime to help me decide on one or the other.

does anyone know if the anytime is as "boomy" inside the cabin as the taitec?

The booming sound is not an issue with the Anytime exhaust. I used to have(collecting dust) a RM Single tip on my car and between 2000-2800rpms, it would resonate the cabin. With the Anytime, if you roll the windows up, it can be almost passed as stock. Feel free to call me and I can start my car up for you and drive it(sounds kinda crazy, but I would do it). Or you can PM some customers and find out their feelings on the sound. Supergreen125, KGP or NetViper all have the exhaust and from the feedback I get, they all are very happy with their exhaust decision. My car with the Anytime exhaust was on display at NSXPO and many NSX'ers got a chance to listen to it, so maybe someone may give some addition feedback.
Take care,
John (805)987-7777

BTW, The exhaust dyno'ed at Borla on a bone stock 90k mile 91NSX and showed an increase with just the exhaust of 11HP improvement over stock.

Also, keep in mind the whole exhaust system when considering an exhaust's published dyno figures. For example, the GT Lightweight horsepower numbers quoted above were on an otherwise stock later model 3.2L NSX. The exhaust manifold on these cars is much less restrictive. Compared to an early model with the more restrictive exhaust manifolds, the exhaust is working in a much more efficient system. The dyno figures quoted by John from Borla were run on an otherwise stock 3.0L.

It will be interesting to compare the results of the same exhaust to a 3.0L NSX, which we will post as soon as we have.

Cheers,
-- Chris

PM if you want, but I'll say it here: Very nice note, and very good quality. Also, something that gets overlooked all too often is the warranty. Can't beat it.

I don't have golden ears by any means, so take this for what it's worth, but I liked the ANYTIME exhaust--at least better than the Tubi that I heard. If I were to change my stock exhaust, the ANYTIME exhaust would definitely be one of the top contenders. YMMV.

I have a 97 with 3.2 engine. Is my exhaust manifold more restrictive than the 2003 model? or will i be able to see similiar results?

definitely a hard decision...with only 2 systems on my list. just wish i had info on hp and torque gains with anytime for the 3.2 engine. I know the taitec weighs less but the anytime has a lifetime warranty. Both are pretty close in price after all is said and done (int. freight;shipping; etc..)

ANYTIME- thanks for all help and offers. I downloaded the videos from the website and love the sound from the exhaust but just want to be sure on the gains. the exhaust is offered with single tips now, right? are they available or have to be special ordered? if special ordered, what is the turn around time?

Get the Anytime over the taitec. The HP gains with the Taitec are less than with the Anytime. I can tell just from the seat of the pants dyno. It also has a much nicer sound.

Good luck!

I think there's a sound difference in the Anytime when the difference is either the Comptech or the Taitec headers. Rode in Supergreen's, (94?/comptech/anytime/cantrell) and the cabin noise is almost stock - I could still hear the intake, and you can tell it's a little louder, but it still sounds good. Mine (91/taitec/anytime/cantrell) is louder in the cabin, can't hear anything but the exhaust, and sounds different outside - flatter, not deeper.

as kgp said it - i think the warranty was the final thing that swayed me to the anytime over the taitec lightweight.

i dig it. as netviper says - "seat of the pants dyno" sure feels different than stock.

Before you buy it, I would definitely recommend listening to it. Not just in the car, but outside the car. Be on the street when someone zooms buy at WOT. Loud is good, but you will never again sneak up on anyone.

Maybe listening is the right thing to do, but the sound files on the Anytime web are right on the money. No, you might not sheek up on someone at WOT, but the way some might read your post is that it's god-awful loud, which it isn't.

Side note: One day I was in a subdivision with brick homes that were stcked up on one another, and had narrow streets. I had never heard the car like I heard it that day. If I could have captured that "sound," everyone would be running to buy it. Had something to do with the reverbration I guess, but it was awesome.

My bad - it isn't god-awful loud - but it is loud - to say it's not is a disservice. At WOT it seems like NASCAR. Drivin' around at 4 grand is quieter, but it's still pretty loud. Let's just say that I'm very careful when driving in my neighborhood past about 9pm.

When I bought mine, I was pretty much all about the HP increase, at whatever the cost (within reason, of course, that's why no blower), and didn't really consider noise. I figured it would be louder, and I just jumped in. Don't get me wrong. I'm not dissapointed at all. I'm glad I went in this direction. I like it a lot. The twin pipes coming out of the back look sweet, and best of all, there's nothing like making a big entrance.

Calling me naive with the purchase would probably be a better description. Guess I really had no idea. This is my first experience with a car equipped this way.

Seriously, though - have someone do a drive-by for you. Have them go through RPM's so you get a feel for what's what.

You'll enjoy it no matter what. I'm sure everyone here will attest to it, (with the obvious exception of the guy who likes everything bone-stock.)
