We have a quarter mile strip in Gulfport, MS. (Gulfport Dragway)
The Mississippi Gulf Coast is outside Florida (and outside the Southeast region for that matter) but we do have a lot to offer...especially in the spring and fall. New Orleans and all it offers is an hour away. Probably best to keep any group drives away from Bourbon Street but the food all over town is fantastic and they have a first-class aquarium and other attractions. We also have casinos which means Casino entertainment, Casino hotels, and Casino restaurants...all first class. And Casino owned golf courses like The Bridges (Arnold Palmer design), Grand Bear (Nicklaus Signature course), Shell Landing (Davis Love III design), The Preserve (Jerry Pate design), and Windance (Mark McCumber design).
The six mile twisty road to Grand Bear is a fun drive as there is nothing on the road except the course at its end.
There are some other roads near by that could be wrapped into a 2 hour drive that would be a lot of fun.
And there is the Gulf itself with some very nice cruising highways that run along the shore. Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile is a very nice one hour drive away and is a neat destination.
In October we have Cruisin' the Coast when 3-4 thousand hot rods, antiques, classics and muscle cars converge on the coast for a week of automotive fun.
Gulfport is 9 hours from Orlando, 6 hours from Memphis, 1 hour from Mobile, 2 hours from Pensacola, 4 hours from Montgomery, 7 hours from Atlanta, 8 hours from Houston and 10 hours from Dallas.
I know that's a lot of drive time but I'm just throwing it out there. We have two NSX owners on the coast and a prior owner who owns a nice audio shop and would probably offer some support for a gathering. I'm sure the local Honda dealer would also be interested in supporting us.
