I fail to see why people insist on holding Sony's products so high and mighty. I was a rampant Sony fan until I realized their incomprehensible greed. My Sony computer is full of glitches that HP has never displayed, Sony's ATRAC format is a proprietary piece of incompatible shit, and the architecture for the PS2, and more so the PS3, is absolutely terrible to work with. I am sick of Microsoft being seen as the "Evil Giant" when in truth Sony is more manipulative on more levels across the field. If you really wanted to support the little guy, then everyone here would have bought the Dreamcast.
I used to be a huge sony fan. had a Playstation 1 when they first came out in 1995, and had a ps2 as soon as i could find one in stores.
After my ps2 bit the dust (disc read error) they fixed it for free. i still like sony.
16 months later i get it again (disc read error) and all of the sudden, its not their fault, and they want 40$ plus shipping to fix it.
I got my xbox360 premium after waiting in line at a circuit city all night. The games could be better, but i understand they were rushed. I'm absolutely addicted to Project Gotham.
I see it being hard for sony to get an advantage for their hardware. Developers would need to code specifically for their Cell architecture, which wouldnt translate well to other platforms. This is a bad business model for everyone who's name is not "Sony".
Sure, gt5, Metal Gear something, and some other first party titles will look beautiful, but i dont see it happening On a large enough scale. Plus i now hate sony, so i'll continue to play my xbox.
As for the design, i think the 360 is the best "system" ever. The functionality is incredible. All wireless, a Fully fleshed out online component, and finally a slick clean form factor, this could be the ticket for them to win it all this generation.
