I tried it for the very first time recently, at Samba, located at the Mirage casino and hotel.

We had a corporate dinner, so a group of us decided to try Brasilian style dinner after a hard day's work. ;)

I know that this is probably not close to the "real" Brasilian Rodizio, but WOW the food was awesome.

They started with bread and salad, with a dressing that I really liked. In fact I liked the salad so much that I asked for seconds, which they didn't bring (thank goodness).

Then the servers bring skewers of various kinds of meat, served hot off the skewer with a knife.

I loved the bacon wrapped Turkey, the sausage, and the ribs.

Those who know me know that I'm not a huge meat lover. I prefer to stick to veggies and seafood. However, this meal was the most amazing meat filled dinner I've had in a long time. I was so stuffed from dinner because they continue to bring you the various meats until you're totally stuffed.

I couldn't stop thinking about the dinner since then. In fact, I dare say that if you can convince a vegetarian to try the dinner, chances are they'll turn to the dark side for good.

Wow I've got to rave about Rodizio. If you had to have a last meal, this is probably the meal you'd ask for, and you'd stuff yourself until your gut was totally full.

Anyone who likes meat at all should try Rodizio!!!

Back in the day when your brother would have NSX lunch and dinner gatherings everyone wanted Dim Sum and I would want Brazilian. Well I got outvoted and it was Dim sum.

The true test to that statement would be to get your brother to eat it!

The best one that I had was at Porcao in Rio .. .. truly .. one of the best meals I had when I was in Brasil.
Another great one is the pineapple covered in cinnamon and then grilled like the other meats .. wow!! (Now I start feeling hungry just imagining it!)

Cheers ... Gus

I had it twice here in Houston. I went to this Fogo Da Chau (spelling?) restaurant and the food was good, but kind of short on selection. Mostly beef, pork, lamb and chicken...while the other restaurant I went to offer gator's meat, rattle snakes and some other exotic animal...

Overall, the dining experience is good, not great, but good.

I did this as well with some buddies. It became a test of manhood to see who could keep the green light on the longest. I had a meat hangover for 3 days!

Going to Sao Paulo Brazil next month for a few weeks... I plan on eating at the Churrascaria's (spelling?) as much as I can!

Like here in the States, the quality varies greatly down there too. The best I've had in the States was in NYC.

One of the Brazilian BBQs had super model hot brazilian girls working there too!!!

I consider my Brazilian wife super model hot, but when you visit Brazil you can see there are quite a few (none like mine though)!

Here's my 15-month-old Brasiliera (again, my Portuguese sucks):

Why yes, yes I have

As a meat lover with zero veggies/fruits in his diet, I could not have been more satisfied !

I'm marrying a Brazillian of Japanese desent. I love Churrascarias, though good ones are few and far in between. One of the best in the world is located in Cancun Mexico. Plan on spending a few hours at least, and trying animals you never thought you would see, let alone taste. :D
