Anybody else is driving to NSXPO from the Norhteast?

I'll be leaving NYC October 1 after work. The plan is to stop by few places on the way, like Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, San Francisco, LA .

I'll be taking the Southern route, but would happy to meet somewhere in the middle, like Austin, for some BBQ!

My Son and I will be traveling to Las Vegas starting 10/2/15. We will travel I86, 90, 71, 70, 44, and 40. I'll spend a night or so there before going to Palm Springs on the 8th.
