Thanks for posting this.

My personal comparisons have been between the iPhone 5 and the NavTech Acura Navi in my RL. I find them to be quite close.

I have yet to compare it head to head with my Navigon App or with one of my TomToms but I agree that the media appears to be blowing things way out of proportion.
 
Just received the Apple lightning to 30 pin dock connector adapter (cable version).

I can confirm that it fits/works with the Monoprice bumper case.

There was some concern that this adapter cable had a slightly larger plastic casing on the lightning plug that could interfere with some iPhone 5 case designs.

Will report back on how it works in my cars.
