Any 6 speed NSX'ers have the 4.235 gears installed?

The 6 speed 4.235 gears are on the Dali site. What I want to know is if you will still be in 4th gear at the end of the 1/4 mile. From what I hear an NSX with the 4.55 from Comptech will be in 5 th gear at the end of the quarter mile
I would hope that the 4.235 will put you right at 7000-8000 rpm in 4th at the end of the 1/4 mile,right were you should be.
I hear that this is what is in the 2002-2003 NSX-R in Japan, the Japs love drag racing trust me I have seen it. I know most NSX'ers dont think much of the 1/4mile drag strip, but I love it.
The NSX-R specs are 0-60 in 4.4 sec and quarte mile in 12.8.
The 12.8, by the way was a drag race (1/4 mile)with a Skyline R34 (stock) were it lost by 1/10 of a second.

A few simple calculations can tell you how gear changes will affect your top speed in a given year.

4.062 is the stock R&P and 130 MPH is the top speed in 4th with the stock gearing. So, to calculate for the 4.55 R&P:

4.062 / 4.55 = 0.89

130 MPH * 0.89 = 116 MPH at the top of 4th with the 4.55 R&P


And to calculate for the 4.235 R&P:

4.062 / 4.235 = 0.96

130 * 0.96 = 125 MPH at the top of 4th with a 4.235

I haven't heard from anyone running the 4.235 on a 6-speed yet, if you try it let us know what you think!

The fuel economy will be worse than stock, but better than with the 4.55 R&P.

Use the numbers from the FAQ for the Japanese NSX and mulitply and divide by the R&P ratios:

1st: 45*4.062/4.235
2nd: 73*4.062/4.235
3rd: 101*4.062/4.235
4th: 139*4.062/4.235
5th: 186*4.062/4.235
