Has anyone found a good source that can anodize parts off your Motor? I would like to get a couple things anodized the same Red as the Comptech rear Strut Bar i have.

Steven,

There should be several anodizers in your area. I know in my area there's 3 or 4 that do nice work.

I would suggest looking in the Yellow Pages and give a few locals a call. Tell them what you're doing and if you're flexible with timing, they can probably include your parts in the next batch of red that they do.

Steven,

Anodizing is a different process than powdercoating.

Powdercoating is like painting. It involves the spraying of a powder onto a part. The powder is electrostatically charged to the part. You can powdercoat pretty much anything like aluminum or steel. It's much thicker than anodizing and certain precision surfaces may need to be masked.

Anodizing is a chemical electrolytic process that is most typically done to aluminum parts. It involves multiple baths, electric current, dyes, etc. It doesn't add much to the surface and the anodizer can typically etch away the exact same amount they add.

Although these are both finishes, anodizing companies typically focus on anodizing and other dipped process and sometimes plating.

Powdercoaters are generally more like paint shops.

Hope this helps.
