you know, in truth, i believe i've responded to each pm i've received w/in 24 hrs if i'm able; that said, i'm very respectful of others time and appreciate that they may take several days to get back to me. over the years, i've made it a personal policy to respond to known emailers w/in 24 hours; likewise, in today's world, i understand if i don't hear back from someone w/in 24 hrs. if it's important to me, i'll forward the mail/pm to them and add "2nd request" to the subject line.

i believe we're all adults and capable of prioritizing our personal time appropriately.

I actually even said I looked over some of your posts and you seemed normal in them so I thought you were having a bad day if you read the whole thread. Still, I feel when I get that kind of PM, I should ask if it is something I did wrong (which FDnewbie seems to side with you on from what I can tell, so I can take constructive criticism to better myself personally and professionally) or if you were out of line (again, not telling anyone who you were). I am on my own time here, so if I want to spend hours debating this, it's not affecting the company's production. As for Dawn, I would leave her out of this. You imply that I answer her because she is a "she" it seems, but I take time to answer or converse with Steve (WhiteNsxs) as well as many others here, and I would not think you would even be making that point unless it was because she is an attractive member of the opposite sex. Before you go starting rumors, you might want to read ALL the posts, especially where I say in a thread she started "She is a pretty woman isn't she? You are correct that I could have answered you right back, but I think it is my right to be as prompt or lazy as I want to when I am off work, especially when you are soliciting me. If AT&T emails me to see if I want long distance and I do not answer them, I do not expect them to cuss me out or tell me what a jerk I am for not getting right back to them. As I said, maybe you were having a bad day, but I did not name you in this thread, so until you posted it was pretty anonymous, and if I had truly wanted to badmouth you I would surely have posted your screen name in the PM quote.

Thanks for the compliments Queen. I do not really consider him a spammer, as I completely understand his original PM to me. I try to be fair and treat people I would like to be treated, and my eraser wears out for before the lead does (from all the mistakes I make) so I am not preaching. I just could not understand the change in tone, and it affected me so much I wanted to know what I might have done wrong. I also did not post this to get into a big ordeal with Mike, as my old boss (who was like a dad to me) used to say "if you get into a pissing match with a customer, all you end up with is a wet leg" and I truly believe it is true, even though Mike is not technically a customer (or at least will never be now from the PM :biggrin: ). I was only trying to see if I was missing the big picture. Lord knows I can not stand bad customer service, which is why MJ makes me so mad, even though I have never had any dealings with him, and find his website to be pretty humorous.

I guess I could have Todd (my partner) post a confirmation that I have the printout of your original PM I brought from home this morning if he wanted to create an account (he is not an NSX owner or Prime member), but honestly, that will not convince you, and I am not going to waste his time, since he would likely reply with some similar nastiness that you PM'ed me with. You can believe me or not, but I would have answered given time to discuss it and see what, if anything, we could offer you. You have to understand, we sponsor 2 local MX riders, as well as 3 forums (which we consider advertising, so it's not for charity), and we also sponsor 2 major rides at Windrock ATV in Oak Ridge TN each year, which is quite expensive, but it is for charity, and it does give us some good potential exposure to customers outside of our local brick and mortar sales area. I make it a point to respond to PMs within a day or two, and if it's something that's going to require some time, or I'm simply way too busy to address it at the moment, I simply take 30 seconds to PM the guy back and say "Hello XXXX, I just wanted to let you know that at the present time my time is very tight, so I haven't had a moment to respond to your PM. That's what I do for everyone, and honestly, I expect it back. I get VERY peeved when I PM someone and they don't respond at all, because I personally think it's completely disrespectful. It's like someone calling you and leaving you a voicemail and you never return their call. Ppl deserve a response, even if it's a short "I'll get back to you" response. Just something to acknowledge their inquiry. And in fact, many a time when I've PMed ppl back w/ the response I mentioned above, I get such pleasant responses, ppl expressing their great appreciation that I went out of my way when so busy to let them know they weren't being ignored. It's the little things that go such a long way...and it's also the little things that kill. So yea, I think it's 100% wrong to leave ppl for several days w/o responding to them in any way, shape, or form, esp. when some forums have read receipts, so they KNOW you read it. I just think it's poor manners/etiquette IMO.

Shumdit, as for your specific case, I think a) an adult (the father) should be a lot more patient and professional than that, b) he should expect a delay on a holiday weekend, when many ppl may be playing catchup or even going out of town, and c) it's only been 2 days. So I wouldn't blame you a bit. My response above was more of a general statement, but I don't think you were wrong at all. Now if Wednesday evening rolled around and still no reply, I may be of a different opinion at that point :wink:

LOL, I see your point about the MDX and NSX thing, but someone who can substansiate that they do in fact use items for competitive purposes do get a little break in my book, since the sport will lead to increased interest in the hobby. And other than the fact that he is obviously wrong as can be about my intention to reply to him, I have no real beef with him since it's not like he came down here and spray painted the reply on the side of the store!
