What are your thoughts on the extreme increase in prices of air cooled 911s? For those who haven't followed, we aren't talking 20-30% appreciation, more like 50-100% increase over a 2-3 year period and continuing. Granted some of that must be due to market recovery from the 2008+ slowdown, but there is much more to it, the air cooled market has exploded in what seems to me like a very short period of time.

Fair market value for long undervalued cars or bubble in the making?

the air cooled Porsches have close tolerances and were built and designed by skilled craftsmen. the fluid cooled Porsches (except for the turbos) were/are not.
so in some ways it makes sense. i think all bubbles have some basis.

RWB, Rocket Bunny, Liberty Walk? Lol

Not sure I understand your point. I see these are tuners?!? Unless this is some kind of NSXprime inside joke I'm afraid I don't have the brains to make the proper connections. In other words, I don't know what you're talking about!!!

They are out of control!! I saw a 964 RSA listed for over $125K and it had over 50K miles on it! Mint 993 C2S's are going over $100K which is crazy consider a 993TT could be bought for $70K a few years ago.

No kidding! If you can find a 993TT under 100,000$, it's 'underpriced'. Sub 20,000 mile 993TT cars have asking prices in the 200,000$!

The factory built about 68,000 variants of the type 993 cars for the world market (source Wikipedia), not exactly a low production car even though the subsequent series were produced at higher numbers, seems like an awful lot of collector cars! What gets to me is the sudden rise in price.

Nostalgia and speculation could be driving this unusual phenomenon.

It's most definitely a bubble but I don't believe they'll fall back to pre-bubble prices.
I've seen local cars rocketing in prices over the last few years even unrestored project cars are going for quite a amount.

We might be so far along that speculating in them isn't worth while anymore.

These are tuners/custom builders that are putting wide body kits onto older Porsche's. Another person is Magnus Walker.
Also its the 50th anniversary of the 911, so that is adding to the prices and collectibility.
