I'm planning on picking up some caliper paint today and am double minded as to what to do. I have a Spa yellow and will either go with Red calipersand yellow NSX lettering or Yellow calipers with red NSX lettering. Any comments or pics on which one will look better. I think the red will make it look more exotic.

Thanks

I agree, black with yellow lettering.

i dont think red and yellow work well together myself. black and yellow are awesome (as you already know)... id go black with yellow lettering or even purple with yellow (yellow and purple being opposite colors). if you really want to play around, find a pic of an nsx wheel with painted calipers and pull it into photoshop or some other paint program and play with the colors.

Black with yellow lettering!

i think black w/ yellow lettering would be the best. it would flow w/ your car perfectly. the black is low profile enough to not take away from the wheels you have. if you get calpipers that are brightly colored they can be a focal point on your car, and thats a bad thing. i like to keep my car even, where nothing out does anything else, or draws more atention than other parts

like i said, go w/ the black

I have a 2001 spa yellow nsx and one of the first things I did was have my calipers powdercoated.I went with a matching yellow and painted the letters black.Looks awsome!!I have some pictures on file but I have to figure out how to post them.

Given what I know about your car .....

.... I recommend you go with black and yellow coloring .......

Black will hide most of the brake dust. Yellow is nice if your car is in the showroom .......

Cheers.

I happen to LOVE the color coordinated calipers on my car!!

Robr:

I also have a silver with the Tarox and was about to paint them black but blue sounds interesting. Any chance of a picture?
Thanks

I am probably too conservative but I still like the red on brakes since I am used to see them on hi-performance/hi-cost cars (Porsche TT, GT2 and GT3, Ferraris, Audi RS4, ...). Black and red "can" look stock... other colors are a little aftermarket (yes, even on the OEM '02!

)

I tought so many times about doing mines on the sebring silver that I may end up doing it in the next months.

ill see if i can find some airedale, if not ill go out and take a pic later today.

and yes ken, PURPLE!!! you might be surprised how good it looks with yellow

i put some pics up of the blue calipers at www.nema.com/300zx/nsx - they could use another coat of paint but theyve held up well since i painted them probably 2+ years ago. ignore the filthy rims. tried to take a pic of the car from a distance but you just couldnt make out the calipers so it wasnt worth it.

Thanks, Rob, I like that. I'll think about it instead of the black. BTW, what brand of paint did you use?

i just went down to the local autozone and used engine block paint, high temp stuff. i put on a coat of blue (i think it was even ford blue
smile.gif
) then used a chrome engine paint (couldnt find a high temp) then coated it all with a high temp clear coat. the key was for every coat of paint i put on, i needed to let it dry for like 48 hours. i tried hand painting the silver nsx and it melted the blue paint beneath if i didnt wait long enough, then after i had all that down, i sprayed on the clear coat, and THAT melted the blue and silver. basically i had to start over a few times before i realized i would need to be something i am normally not........
