Advan AVS Model 5's, where are you at?

jonathandvis04, Yokohama (thru Mackin Industries) have offered 3 styles of Advan AVS 5-spoke split style wheels over the years.

First, the VS-5 (what you have offered for sale, originally titled errant-ly as "Model 5").

Then came the Model-5 (which is what is being discussed in this thread & currently discontinued).

And the presently available T5 (a different offering than the Model-5).

I'm pretty surprised no one wants my 18/19 setup

I think because its VERY aggressive unless someone has flared fenders. I like your set but I know its (A) too aggressive for me and (B) think ill go with 17/18 anyway. I know I'm getting tired of this damn thread because everyone is having fun... go and have your fun with your cool Mod 5's and your weather nice enough to still have your car on the road.... >:(

I have quite a few Model 5's in my personal collection currently... Maybe I'll have some free time in spring and let a few sets go :D

You have to release them into the wild slowly to keep the values up. ;)

what sizes and offsets??

also for those whom have refinished their advan 5's; it is possible to refinish the outer ring (that is the same color as the wheel) of the centre caps????

Numerous.... 18x8... 18x9... 19x8... 19x10... Some others as well.

Yes you can refinish the caps if you take them apart (take center caps out, and either have them painted or powdercoated. Just important to leave clearance where need be.)

Have anything in 17" between 7"-8.5" width? I'm on a mission to find some for a buddy of mine.

It's not that aggressive and as I mentioned before I can machine the hub to make the offset higher.

I just posted a couple more pairs for sale

My 17" fronts from IMS_NA1 just arrived. I'm going to drop them off to get refinished in gunmetal next time I get paid. ALMOST THERE)!*$)!(!

Mine need to be refinished with the wheels. It appears that the center plastic part is probably glued on or sticky taped to the metal ring. I haven't peeled it apart yet. I just wanted to make sure before I cause any damage.

Yes, they are glued/double sided taped. I had my guy take a set apart and I believe he used a heat gun and was able to pop the plastic centers out from the back. Refinished the caps themselves then reglued the centers back in.

That's what I was hoping. Thanks!

Anybody know where to find replacement center cap screws? I'm a few short and would rather just replace them all so they're new. :D I imagine I might have to take one to a screw shop to match the size and shape.

In the process of putting together a 17/18 setup in gunmetal.

17x8 38mm
18x9 35mm

I was gonna swing by the place here over the weekend but they're only open during the week. I'm going to see if I can get over there tomorrow. It is pretty close to the shop that is refinishing my wheels.

Just got back from the screw shop and dropping off the wheels for some gunmetal powder love. The center cap screws are M4 x 8mm
http://www.tacomascrew.com/s.nl/it.A/id.7607/.f That link is to the part number on my invoice. He said they didn't have silver, which was fine since I was after black anyway. I verified they fit in the wheels before I dropped them off.

Can you post a pic and do you know if the screws are stainless or is treated against rust?

Thanks,

Mike

I was so excited to find screws that fit that I didn't even think about rust. :|
