Acceleration-time calculation

In the FAQ there is a nice documents on NSX-gears and the relation to accelaration times. http://www.nsxhelp.com/faq/gears.htm

What I am wondering is: how do you calculate the acceleration times of your car with the numbers you have (HP, torque, gear-rations and R&P rations, wheel-sizes etc.)
Is this something you can do in an Excel-file or is it more complicated than that.

I always thought that www.nsxprime.com and www.nsxhelp.com were related to each other since they have so much information in common. And since www.nsxhelp.com has had an update in it's layout with all the info listed on one page that's where I looked for the info on the gears.
Now that I compary their IP-addresses I see the difference. My apoligies for not noting it earlier.

Yes, you can do the calculations in excel. It is just a finite-differenced solution you march in time. I will send you a word document that explains the equations over the weekend.
