Well be careful driving the NSX back, there's bound to be some ugly road conditions until you get further south. We'll say a prayer for your safe journey home.

I used to obliterate the Audi's in even the most hellish snowstorms (think feet, not inches) with my old S2000 with Blizzak's on it. That car was outrageous in the winter; amazing.

I take the NSX out, but not when there is any snow on the road. Only when its perfectly dry.

BUT, beware that high performace tires are deadly in cold temps. Dry road or not, unless you put snows on the car, do not, even a little, push the car.

Thankfully no snow here yet - still fairly warm. Still driving around with RA1s.

Mermi, let us know if you're headed to TO anytime.

That's one thing I hate about Toronto and had forgotten when we moved back. NO WINTER!! One day we'll move out agian..........

One day..........

Actually I been lurking longer than that but forgot my screen name/password/something went wrong. LOL.

I don't own an NSX (One day one day...) but love them and that's why I don't post much.

Holy ! Moly !

You're a nut!! I'd freak if that was my baby.......

But I do have to say it is an exhilirating experience to have never driven in snow, but your first experience being in an NSX!!! It was wonderful......

Crazee..... the other morning it was so cold and I had ice on my windshield. Being the Floridian that I am, I had absolutely NO! clue what to do. I couldn't see and so I sat there for 15 + mins. with engine revv'ing and defrost full blast, but nada...... My coworkers laughed their booties off at me when I told them.... Seriously it is a NEW experience for me! But I truly am having a VERY hard time with this weather , and more importantly, not driving my girl :( I have her in my garage and am driving the TrailBlazer, but I don't know how much this Mermaid is 'meshing' with the snow :(
:: homesick::

p.s. That was in No. Virginia?? Crap, how much worse should I expect here in MI??? What the heck was I thinking ??? :tongue:

yeah, that was 2002 I think. It hasn't snowed anywhere near that much since then.

OK guys .. enough with the jokes about snow .. I know it's all in fun but you're perpetuating the myth that you can't/shouldn't drive an NSX in snow and it just isn't true. As someone who has driven their NSX year round in Canada for the last 5 years .. including about 20,000+ miles of winter driving .. I think I have more than enough experience to say that an NSX with winter tires is not only viable .. I'd pick it over my wife's TL (also with winter tires) any day of the week.
You're always going to find heavy snowfalls like the ones above .. and it doesn't look like the SUVs in the pictures are going anywhere either .. but I have driven through snow up to about 5inches deep (mine isn't lowered) and 2-3 inches is pretty much a non event. So, can we dispense with the myth now?
ps. tip for MiamiMermaid .. the next time you've got ice on your window, try using a credit card to chisel it off... it's more effective than you might think .. and if you break it, there's lots more where those came from :biggrin:
