A Ford GT bites the dust!

I like the comments that some people left:

"well ya know what they say, Ford Owners Resembel Dicks! FORD"

"It's farked, considering the pole definetly went into the engine compartment..."

"HA! That's what you get prototype-boy!!" (since when are all Ford GTs prototypes?)

"$200,000......FOR A DAMN FORD! That qualifies anyone as idiot.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I don't care how you package it. It's a piece of shit Ford."

That is the best line EVER. For my money, I think I just may get ummmmmm anything but that.

I like the comment about it only being $10K in damage. The airbags are probably half that amount. That guy must work at Maaco, or be so far out of the loop like my father.

Respect ladies and gentlemen, we know its a peice of crap ford. but that peice of crap can tear an NSX apart. the ford gt kicked the crap out of the ferraris in the 60's. The GT is the ferrari killer, except the enzo.

Just look at that side shot of the GT... hawtness.

Ford's version of a 5mph bumper?

back to the drawing boards

With 550 horsepower, the last time that car saw 5mph was when the clutch was PARTIALLY let out:eek:

IMHO it looks like the kind of car a 5th grader would draw. And it is a $200k FORD that might have a place as supercar #20 in my imaginary 20 car garage.

BUT, at least one of their owners isn't a cheeseball "lottery winner": I passed a white w/ blue striped one in a Miami intersection, while driving my NSX, and he gave me an enthusiastic thumbs up. Only time I've ever seen one driving, and I happily gave him the "nice car" gesture in return.

I've NEVER gotten a thumbs up from any (sitings 20-times a day, dime a dozen, etc.) Ferrari or Lambo owners in Miami Beach. And I see more Aston Martins here on a sunny Saturday than NSXs in a month. Armando, would you concur?

I respect your opinion, its fine. But the GT is not 200K. 150K is more correct. IMHO ferrari drivers have small penises, just like the drivers of lifted pick ups. I see your point tho with the no attention from Lambos, ferrari's... How ever the body of a GT does resemble a body of a 67 Shelby GT 500. I dont know how you cant like that!

I would buy one in a heartbeat if I could afford it...It is a fantastic example of what US car makers could do if they really wanted to produce something great....The guys on the Ford Fusion line are not building this car...so saying "It's just a piece of crap ford" is like saying the Enzo is a "piece of crap Fiat"..

I like the guy who said "the car can't be repaired because the front axle would be completely destroyed". What's he think that thing is, a K car? Does he think it has some type of boat trailer axle in the front.....hahaha. Bunch of morons talk about fixing it, yeah right. If you have money to own it, you have enough money to not piss with fixing it....you just go get another one.

I wouldn't exactly say that...

between 1960 and 1970... Ford won a total of 4 Le Mans.

Ferrari won Le Mans 6 times in the same period. See Le Mans History...

The Fords that won it in '66 & '67 (Mark II and Mark IV respectively) were a 7.0L monster compared to the Ferrari 3.3L 275 and 4.0L 330 respectively.

And as for tearing an NSX apart... Well that depends on what criteria you are judging them by...

The NSX will "tear apart" the Ford GT in terms of handling, fuel economy, reliability, build quality and quite possibly braking.

The Ford GT on the other hand will "tear apart" an NSX on the drag strip and probably top speed.

I personally love the Ford GT and am glad Ford are trying to revive their racing heritage by binging out these iconic cars! I would have one in a second if I could afford to have one in addition to the NSX...

I love that car and would be happy to one day have one. Not instead of the NSX but along side it.

Please let me know where you can actually buy one for $150K. Regardless of the sticker price, out here is the East they are at $250K or the dealer is not selling it.

Hi Larry,

It is $150k on Ebay from a guy that just got transferred oversees and uses terrible spelling and grammar and only wants me to wire 1/2 the month this week!

;)

I would like to see the results of a test where new model cars were released with no badges and no markings for anyone to tell what kind of car it is. The GT is a great car. Too many people are stuck in the designer label trap that has been set up to empty wallets with products that really are not all they are hyped up to be.

I can't believe how many negative people posted there! It took me a LONG time to learn to like the GT, but the looks have grown on me. I don't see how you can beat it for the money, either.

Looks like Larry is right on the money to me...all the 2006 cars on Autotrader.com are going for 200k+...one sold here localy for 225k and the dealer made the owner leave it in thier showroom for 6 months to get this price.

MSRP ="manufacturers SUGGESTED retail price"
