I chose my 02 NSX over the 911 TT. The only thing in the Pcar line that is of interest to me is the GT3. The rest of them can continue to be bought and painted pink by fairies like Red for all I care.

Well I guess this is the silly season, so I think I will kick in my opinion. I have been a bike guy for the last 50 years, no car will ever completely win me over because most cars are pretty tame in the $ over excitement stakes. 10 sec. quarters and 0-60 in the 2 sec. range can be had for less than $15k brand new, 14000 rpm? nothing, so it's going to take more than performance to get us going.
A year ago the opportunity to own a '91 NSX for $20k appeared, (you can't get a new Civic for that!) I baulked, but the wife said, buy it!....what would you do? It had a fairly complete service history, so I did. It safetied and emission tested no problem and our first trip took us over 1500 kms in a week end without a hitch.
OK, no big deal, any current minivan will do that easily...but the GPS said our average was 123kph and we went through Montreal at 4pm on Friday! This is the first car I've owned that didn't feel slow, and that includes your air-cooled Porsches.
But it's not just performance, if you have the slightest bit of engineering appreciation have a look under your car, Honda never borrowed parts from the rest of the range (please don't compare it with the the TL or any of that stuff), Honda thought the car was important enough to make special parts for a special car, Lotus built their cars (and still do) from whatever happened to be available, I bet you'll find production parts on a Ford GT. Honda must have lost millions to provide you with a brilliant car that you can own for so little.
So...it's not a bike, but I challenge anyone to come up with such a beautifully made performance car that is so competent in so many areas, even after all this time,that is so affordable and so rewarding.

I can somewhat see where he is coming from. I am really itching for another X, some of you guys calling me doesn't help either, but it all depends on where I want to go with it. Some of you know that can exceed the cost of lets say an 07 Z06 WITH WARRANTY ($60K-70K). I had well over that in my X without warranty. No doubt the X is awesome, but financially these days there may be some other options that may be more interesting. And this is the problem I face. If i buy another X, I will boost it again, 300hp is just not enough these days. Especially when you have stangs and civics already pushing those numbers. I'm kinda torn between the 2.........
Buy an Ariel Atom for $50,000 and an early NSX for $30,000. The Atom will be faster than the Z06 and you still have the NSX for leisurely cruises. :biggrin:

Yeah, well that's a lot better than my investments are doing and it's more fun too! I think I'll drive it for another year.:smile:

I like apples and I like oranges. EACH has their use in life. The TL is a nice car. Just can't remember the last time I saw one racing down the front stretch hitting 220km/h and then doing hard on threshold braking to enter turn one at 150 - over and over and over I might add. TL is like my S60R (well sort of - slower). A nice ride with quality and some pep for driving the family and friends around. I'm sure your buddy pics up chicks with the family sedan all the time compared to you with the exotic.....

I understand why the NSX is so not worth it to them - the TL has a back seat you can make out with all the hot chicks you can pick up while driving around in it - with the NSX you have to take them home 1st (or take the roof off)

I sold my 996 TT and bought an NSX - WAY more fun to drive, I have had the fortune to either own or drive many of the world's great sportscars and sedans and I can say the NSX is right up there - the difference is most noticeable when I talk to my friends with Ferraris and they say they don't drive them a lot because they can't park them anywhere - My NSX IS my daily driver all summer (8,000 MILES a summer) I could do that in a TL - but why would I? Life is too short to drive a boring car.

A wise friend told me once that you buy a certain car for how it makes you feel when you look at it and drive it. I bought my 93 about 12 years ago and only put about 3K a year on it. I tinker with it frequently and while it's sort of a garage queen, I do drive it relatively hard when I can. I think about someday meeting the individuals that built my car and seeing how proud they must be of engineering and building such an object of art. I'll never sell it, they can bury me it.
I paid $35K for mine, and what I got is a technological marvel and a whole gaggle of semi-reputable friends.
