I am considering buying some rims off of a '91 and wondering what possible problems I might experience. I want a spare set for track tires. Should I put the R rubber on the 15/16's or the 16/17's?

Thanks in advance!

This is kind of a toss up based on your preference.

15/16:

taller sidewall (although I do not know the tire you have chosen)

lighter weight

16/17
Shorter sidewall (probably stiffer)

probably heavier

Advantage for track:

- wheels availible cheap
- tires availible cheaper then 16/17
- 15 & 16 will fit in the car with tires on them (16 in trunk, 15 behind passenger seat, 15 & 16 facing forward on the passenger seat)

No real disadvantage to tell you about. They are light, newer racing tires are very stiff, and the wheels are relatively cheap.

Thats what I wanted to hear... Thanks!

Also, there are a lot of different track tires available in the stock '91-93 size.

I use Yokohama A032R tires in the stock sizes (205/50-15 front, 225/50-16 rear) and they work great.

BTW, you can't use the '91-93 wheels on a '97 or later NSX because they won't clear the larger brakes, but you'll be fine on your '96.

as long as you're not going to upgrade your brakes you will have more tire choices in r compounds with the 15/16.The 16 front is a tough size to find fitment, for.

I use the A032R's on my s2000 and like them. Might use them on the NSX...

Thanks
