Yesterday was a beautiful day, so after my tennis game, I drove over to Mamaroneck, NY to the Kiwanis Club car event, which featured 50 years of Corvettes. Figured I'd stroll the grounds, and enjoy the show. I couldn't get parking after riding around awhile and found myself in the exhibitor's line, I said to the guy, you don't want me in this line, I'm just looking for parking, he said, why don't you go in the open class, I did the quick math, $5 to attend the show (no good parking) $15 to enter the show, with good parking, I entered the show. I parked next to a black Lambo Diablo (1994) and immediately a white 1985 911 Turbo Cabrio pulled next to me. I had just put another coat of Zaino (no flames please) on the day before, and had done the interior too, so the car was looking pretty good. Coincedentally, I even knew the judge who was reviewing this class. I don't know how I did, or even if I did, as I didn't stay for the awards, but I have to tell you, between my car and the Lambo, the line did form. Kids (who obviously don't appreciate all the 60's and other muscle cars) were all over our cars. They were exclaiming that these were the nicest cars at the show. The ignorance and stupidity of many of the viewers was a constant source of amusement to me and the Porsche owner, the comments were hilarious. I had a great time looking at all of the cars, trucks, roadsters, and I think that with all of the people looking at the Lambo and the NSX (the 911 was pretty, but also very common in comparison) the Kiwanis Club should have paid me to show. The real reason I posted this thread was to let everyone know that while we might be driving a car that's been around awhile, it's still very new to lots of people, and it does attract a large number of gawkers that can't say enough good things about it. I was also asked by a number of people the usual questions ( how fast, how much, what other cars did you look at before deciding on this one......) and my favorite for the flame wars, wow, what a shine, what wax do you use?:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

P.S. I also saw a blue 02-03 earlier in the morning, are you a member?

i would have loved to have gone and im just a few minutes away......by the way its probably the same blue that i saw three times already...i too made a post to see if he was on the board but he most likey dosent even know this forum exists.
