2022 NSX Type S Registry

found some good pics for car #210, 9UNC1B06NY000210, in Curva Red over red Alcantara interior. It does have the lightweight package with contrasting Berlina Black Gloss wheels and matching red calipers. It does have the XM radio option. Photo credit goes to Weir Canyon Acura.

OK, we have some terminology stuff here. A lot of posts refer to red alcantara interiors. There is no red alcantara. Perhaps go with red leather with alcantara (I work in Biotech and create a style guide for each project to avoid folks saying the same thing n different ways in a single paragraph).

#076, 19UNC1B06NY000076 got a buff and shine at @HyerQualityDetailaz. The Curav Red paint was accentuated with Berlina Black Gloss wheels over the lightweight package carbon ceramic brakes and red calipers. The seats are wrapped with ebony leather/Alcantara. This car was sold new at Acura of Peoria.

Car #067, 19UNC1B05NY000067, happens to be for sale at Topline Automotive. It's one of the few cars with silver calipers. When ordered at Southern Motors Acura, the buyer selected the Orchid leather/alcantara seats, Berlina Black Gloss wheels, and the lightweight package. Notably, the instrument cluster is carbon fiber but has the XM radio antenna bump on the roof.

Here's a new summary for everyone, interior color. Finally, we topped 300 in count. The majority of the determinations come from photographs. It is crazy sometimes to try and see through the windshields and reflections to figure out the interior options. Funny enough, I found other sites that report interiors as "WHITE" because in the pictures one can see the shipping protective covers are still in place. When in fact, the interior was actually Red Alcantara. LOL. As a reminder, the interior name speaks to only the seat colors. The dash and doors are all ebony leather/Alcantara material. Other sites are getting this wrong.
  • Ebony Leather has black leather bolsters and black leather inserts.
  • Ebony Alcantara has black leather bolsters and Alcantara inserts.
  • Red Leather has red leather bolsters and red leather inserts.
  • Red Alcantara has red leather bolsters and black Alcantara inserts.
  • Orchid Alcantara has white leather bolsters and black Alcantar inserts.
Now for the summary. It's pretty amazing to see that it was almost even across all the available options with Ebony leather a few percentages higher than average. Orchid was the lowest at 14.4%.

Look, I know what the colors are, using the term red alcantara is goofy because there is no red alcantara. Next idea, red with alcantara (same goes for orchid).

This white and the recently presented yellow car show how wonderful the wheels and brakes look when you skip the played out red calipers.

I wish Acura had offered a silver wheel option for the Type S. In fact, if I get the opportunity to buy a set of OEM Type S wheels, I'll powder coat them silver. It's a look I really prefer over gloss black or matte gray rims.

@97NSXer

I know I texted you earlier but I just wanted to publicly say, THANK YOU for all the hard work!

You truly are an NSX Hero and Champion. Appreciate all the hard work and all you've done for the community.

I was able to find the Acura NSX Type S configurator on the Wayback Machine site to checkout what terminology Acura used. Here's some screen captures:

For the purposes of fitting in the burgeoning tracker tables in the library, we should limit the description to as few words as possible. The table is getting a little wide and I want to leave room for the "notes" column. Hence why the use of the abbreviated Red Alcantara vs Red Leather. How about...

Red Leather/Full
Red Leather/Alcantara
Ebony Leather/Full
Ebony Leather/Alcantara
Orchid Leather/Alcantara

thanks for inputs, opinions, feedback.

Agreed, I hate dark colored wheels. Sucks that both my NSX's came standard with grey wheels.

I am generally a silver wheel person but I do like the black for supercars. I would likely have gone for a silver finish for my NC1 but they only had the interwovens (which look one way on one side of the car and another way on the other side, I believe the term is directional). Ok, they had the $10K ones with the CF inserts but those were not for me.

I recall those 10K CF insert option wheels. Man, I didn't like the rims options in 2020/2021 and told myself the same thing about the "silver" interwovens. Push comes to shove; I would have gotten the CF insert version. But in 2021 when I wanted an NC1, they pulled the CF roof, ugh.

here's the cached page at Acura of Troy with details on #270. It was last crawled on 11/13/22.
don't know if this helps explain what's going on.....it does look like a dealer swap

Keeping with the TOP color scheme, here's car #155 of 350, 19UNC1B02NY000155 that was sold new at Buerkle Acura and later seen on eBay. Options ordered were Orchid leather/alcantara interior, lightweight package, berlina black gloss wheels with orange calipers. Seen on other pictures, the car was ordered with the XM radio antenna. Oh and this one has the alcantara instrument hood. Photos by Rari @458destroyer, dezmond🇺🇸🇵🇭 @verycoolhotwheels and stills from @KraftingKars video.

adding one more TOP car. #271 of 350, 19UNC1B04NY000271 was originally sold by Fox Ann Arbor Acura and then again by Platinum Motor Cars (credit for pictures). This one has red leather/Alcantara seats, Berlina black gloss wheels over orange calipers, lightweight package, and the XM radio option. It does have the Alcantara covered instrument hoodie.

I like you documenting the Orphans. All of us original jeepers keepers know who we are... ;)

small tribute to @BKWFL45's #14 of 350,19UNC1B06NY000014, painted in Valencia Red Pearl with ebony full leather seats, Berlina Black Gloss over red calipers and lightweight package plus the XM radio option. I can't confirm but I bet it has the carbon fiber instrument cluster cover.

Oh, wow, this is the first Nouvelle Blue Pearl to come to market. Nice find.

FWIW, this posting feels more like a consignment deal. RMC's average car price is magnitude less than this NSX.
