2003 headlight Bulb size for HIDs

Hey guys, i need to get hids for my new headlights. Just wondering, what size are they? are they the same as pre 02 models---9006 for lows and 9005 for highs

No, not at all. You can't just get HID bulbs. You have to get the igniters and the ballasts. That's why HID lights are sold as a kit with all the components. Here is the best kit on the market that's made specifically for the NSX.

i understand i need the entire kit(bulbs and ballast). But what size are they for the 02 headlights. i try fitting the 9006 bulbs on the headlights but don't seem to fit.

I believe they are D2S. OEM HID headlights come in either D2S or D2R. D2S is for projector type headlights which the NSX uses. D2R is for a refelctor type headlight which the TL/CL/RL uses.

i just found out that BMW uses the same D2s bulbs like the new headlights of the 2003 NSX.

I'll most likely get the hella kit.

I thought the SOS kit is only good for the 9006 based pre 02 light system? project nsx stated that he tried the conventional 9006 bulb wont fit the 02 light housing. Instead of 9006 based the 02 got something similar as the BMW and late TL HIDs as the last posts states.. Maybe SOS kit wont apply to this case..

I don't know. I'm confused here. If he has a 2002-03 NSX (as you seem to imply), why would he need to get bulbs? Wouldn't it still be under warranty? And if he's putting 2002-03 headlight parts onto an earlier NSX, he would be buying the whole headlight unit, complete with bulb. In either case, there would be no need to buy an entire kit like a Hella kit. That would make sense only if he's converting an earlier NSX to HID.

I just bought the headlights. It didn't come with any bulbs or harness. i'm going to have to fabricate a little from the aftermarket HID kits.

I thought the '03 NSX comes standard with HIDs? If so you'll need plain D2S 35W discharge lamps. Philips part number is 85122.

The low beams on an '02 are HID and the high beams are regular Halogen 9005's. I would venture to say the '03's are the same.
