Transmission: Automatic
Price: $113,000
VIN: JH4NA1264YT000022
Seller: Private
Title: Clean
Location: Houston, TX

Maintenance: Timing belt and water pump replaced at 20,000 miles. Full wheel alignment by Acura dealer when new tires were replaced in 2022. Oil change annually with Mobil-1.

Details: NSX-Targa top driven on the weekends only in nice weather. Always garage kept on battery tender, and only hand-washed and Zymoled to maintain the beautiful spa yellow. Car was originally a show car, and have never been tracked. Car drives straight and strong; practically a brand new car with just 26k miles. Enjoy driving an automatic without the hassles of manually shifting in city traffic. All reasonable offers considered.

Tasteful aftermarket mods made by previous owner: front lip, side skirts, wheels, exhaust, JBL stereo system with amplifiers, speakers, subwoofer, and radar detector.

GLWS, I would love to see you get this price for an automatic (since I also have an auto) but this isn't what the current market is supporting. Asking price is representative of a 2000 NA2 manual in this color, not for a 2000 NA1 automatic.

Recent yellow manual ones sold on BaT (98 and 2000):

That is one beautiful car, that yellow is so fetching, & you've even got the ethereal red key. All the best with the sale. But there are some (literally) red flags here. It's been 6 months and could take quite a while at this rate. Why not just list it on BAT or similar?

In this price bracket, the homemade fuse, airbox, and manifold covers are sending the wrong message, as is the cosmetic rear brace, which is for a Coupe, not a Targa. (The OEM rear brace for the Targa is structural; Honda certainly thought so or they wouldn't have changed to that when they made the Targa. Removing it makes buyers wonder if anything else important was removed for aesthetic reasons. I would replace it with OEM - They're occasionally for sale and quite inexpensive - you could sell the coupe brace to someone with a coupe.) The "interesting" red parts could be replaced inexpensively thru amayama or even at the dealer? You might want to include interior pictures as a couple of photos seem to suggest some mods there too, and your text suggests an aftermarket stereo and sub, all of which could affect the value. Whether to source some less subjective rims is less clear, as a buyer could always switch them as well, but I suspect that OEM rims, or anything not chrome, would raise interest dramatically. Describing your mods as tasteful is also a bit strange.

Monthly bump.

To clarify, all mods were made by the original owner. They're cosmetic, which I think were tastefully done, and do not affect the performance of the car.

Good call to add those interior pics to help folks see the interior. (y) That's quite a few fog switches for a car with no fogs. Kill switch/dummy combo?

Stats dorks looking to extrapolate the sale date based on these date/price data points? 📉 I would forecast 6 months earlier with the engine bay and rims fixed. Are any of the removed OEM parts included?

imo, exchanging the triangulating OEM Targa brace for a linear coupe brace is a both a cosmetic and structural mod. Installed to improve the engine bay cosmetics, but at the expense of structural rigidity. But it's under the cover anyway.

I'd suggest returning the car to as close to stock as possible in hopes of finding the right buyer. Also, if this recent auction is an indicator of the current state of the NA1 market (and this was a 5sp), then a modified auto is going to be a hard sell above $80k. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-acura-nsx-236/

Couldn't agree more. The ad states "tasteful" mods, but in who's taste? It's not a bad looking car, but let's face it, it is not stock. And in today's market, that usually (not always) means a reduction in price. Best of luck to the seller.

I offered $80k back in June. After seeing these pics, I am lowering my offer to $70k. Let me know when you’re ready.

Tom, we are just passing by and scanned your ad since we are looking for another 1997+ NSX

IF you want to get top dollar for your NSX (whatever that number might be) we'd be happy to offer you some advice since we are NSX specialty stereo / carbon / electronics shop. We work on these cars daily and have seen every nightmare you can imagine.

Many of the items you have in the interior will scare buyers away since it clearly shows electrical wiring modifications and make people wonder what else was done. Even though you may not have done the work, many potential buyers will be asking you about it. As others have suggested, we recommend you remove all the aftermarket stuff and put it back to stock, and definitely get rid of those wheels. They are very much hurting your chances of any sale.

Not sure why you have that pillar with all those gauge pods but that needs to go as well since it's odd to have that without any forced induction.

From a condition standpoint this car looks in very good shape. It's all the "accessories" that are making people think twice. We may even have a Targa brice and other parts you may need to bring it back to stock, or check on Ebay.

good luck!
