1st Annual NSX Shootout Update June 3rd-6th

In an effort to simplify the event, we will no longer need a deposit for the participants. Tuscany Hotel and casino is offering room rates at $109-$119 per night. Considering this is a weekend in Las Vegas that is a very good deal. There are no room blocks or codes so it is advisable to book your rooms now.

We will be holding 2 dyno days free of charge. Thursday 6pm-12am and Friday from 12pm-7pm. We will offer Dyno pulls on Saturday as well if there are any leftovers.

Gates open at 7pm at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for ¼ Mile Drag Racing on Friday Night. This is an open event and is only $10 for drivers and $5 for spectators. Drivers are required to wear pants. No helmets are required, unless you are running 11.99 seconds or faster. However, we do encourage all participants to wear protective equipment no matter how fast or slow their vehicle may be.

We will not “officially” be organizing a canyon cruise, but will let those who come know the day, time, and place we will be running on Saturday.

Dinner has been canceled due to various participants’ budgets and or tastes. We will however, be having an after party at Sapphires for those that are interested on Saturday Night

So far we have 19 NSXers that have sent RSVPS. All aftermarket NSX manufacturers and owners are welcome to this free event so pass on the good word. Hopefully, we will get a broad spectrum of NSXs with various forms of modifications to show their stuff.

I have not decided on a hotel yet. Need to figure that out in the next couple of days.

The hardest part about this trip will be driving my car for 4 days in Vegas and then having to wait for a couple weeks for it to be shipped back.

Update, booked a room in the Stratosphere since the Tuscany was sold out.

Most of the places I have stayed at in the past are either sold out or at the highest step in their rate escalation. Stratosphere still had very reasonable rates as of yesterday, although this is probably due to the fact that they are on the northern fringe of the strip (past the Venetian).

I was planning on staying at Crazy Horse II... I hear the beds are satisfactory and the service is excellent. Though the rates might be on the steep side.

This shootout sounds like it is going to be a great time, what would make it even greater is if we got the best of each system to come out and do the Canyon Cruise as well as the 1/4 mile to see how everyones car does and how well they hold up in the desert.

They are who I used for booking at the Stratosphere for 5 nights, my total including $48 of taxes was a bit over $400. Granted, I booked this earlier in the month, but they may be able to help you with promotional rates at other hotels.

Can someone do <Sig> and I a favor?

Hi Guys,

I was hoping to ask anyone from the So Cal area that are going to the Vegas event for a favor.

Sig, who will be flying out the event, and I have a pending deal on the sale of my Taitec NSX-R rear spoiler. However, I am unfortunately unable to attend this meet in Vegas.

Sig PMed me about coming to the event so that he can purchase my spoiler. I was hoping that Aaron (Zanardi 0) would be able to take it since it is his old spoiler, and he is planning on being at this event, but he hasn't returned any of my PMs or email.

So is there anyone that would be willing to meet up with me before the event in Orange County or Los Angeles so that I can get the spoiler to Sig? Both of us would really appreciate it. I figure if someone is flying down to Vegas solo, that they can put the spoiler in the passenger side of the NSX, or maybe in the trunk, but I am not so sure if it will fit in there...

Please let either Sig or I know if you are able/willing to be our "Transporter".
