1991 NSX Igniton Cylinder Issue.

Regarding the wear condition of the key I highly doubt that the key or cylinder has ever been touched, I strongly guess that it's still the original key the car came with.

Any pics of the new key compared to the old key?

Its always possible that the cylinders were re keyed because of a theft issue. That is the reason that I had my cylinders re keyed after my house was broken in to and my spare car keys were stolen along with some other stuff.

That's always possible and if it has been the case I guess it must have been when the car was very young. But I won't say anything here until we've seen the new versus old key and can compare. :)

Updates! my key magically works like butter... maybe when the locksmith kept fiddling with cylinder. Really appreciate app help. Next week I’m still going get an extra copy and have a master locksmith try to decode it

Well, which one? The worn or the new one???

Really appreciate the help!!... it’s just kind of odd.... that the existing key is so smooth now.... hopefully the cylinder is not like broken. Either way I have a momo steering wheel I would have to take with me, if I was out in public. Maybe I’ll try another key the locksmith made. And see what it will do. He only copy it from just looking at the worn key... we’ll see.....

That is nice; but, your car is 27 years old. I would be concerned that your ignition lock might have sent you an early warning that it is approaching its end of life. The next time it jams might be late at night. However, then again it may be just fine for another 10 or 20 years. Its your dice to roll!
