I have a 3gs and works just fine on softbank and docomo group networks. Ofcourse paying like crazy when i actually use the phone to call someone. I purchased a data and text plan through att over the phone. I use the skype app to call people when im on wifi.

I was robbed at the airport in houston. TravelX: $1400-¥104,000. i ought to have shot my self. ATM at a post office near my place: I withdrew ¥8000 and about $99 was pulled from my acct. Thats my experience so far.(−_−＃)

From what i experienced when i got here is lugging a large suit case on to shinkansen or the NEX, or bus is not a problem. Its when you try to bring that giant thing on to the regular trains. It just gets in eveyones way. Especialy if your arriving betwene 5-8pm or 7-9am. Even a backpack seems...

Be careful walking around the market and the auction area. I was almost hit by a scooter, bicycle, and a forklift all in one hour earlier this week. Just keep your eyes peeled!

I totally agree with you on that note. IM not "afraid" to go anywhere in Japan. I just dont want to be around tons of inebriated foreigners at night. It would be the same over here. Just not what i call fun.:smile:
